Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory and degenerative neurological disorder of the central nervous system. Cognitive impairment is frequent in MS patients, which not only includes deficits in abilities assessed by traditional neuropsychological batteries, but also often features impairments in social cognition (including theory of mind and facial emotion recognition). Recently, numerous studies have assessed social cognition performance in MS. However, there have been inconsistent findings. Besides, it is not clear how social cognitive abilities are affected in MS subtypes. The aim of this study is to conduct a meta-analysis to characterize social cognition performance in MS and its subtypes (clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting MS, progressive primary MS, and secondary progressive MS). ⋯ INPLASY202070028.

More and more studies are investigating the influence of the expression of MicroRNA-21 (miRNA-21) on prognosis and clinical significance in patients with lung cancer, but the results are contradictory and uncertain. A meta-analysis was conducted with controversial data to accurately assess the issue. ⋯ DOI 10.17605/OSF.IO/X3MD6.

Is biodegradable pin a good choice for lateral condylar fracture of humerus in children: A comparative study of biodegradable pin and Kirschner wire.
Lateral condylar fracture (LCF) of the humerus in children is one of the commonest elbow injuries in children. Early recognition of the problem and appropriate management usually yields satisfactory outcomes. Closed or open reduction with Kirschner-wire (KW) is a cost-effective choice of fixation method for displaced fracture. However, various other methods, including partially threaded cannulated cancellous screw and biodegradable pin (BP), have also been used. This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of BP and compare its clinical outcomes with KW. ⋯ Both KW and BP are safe and effective choices for LCF of the humerus in children. Both the implant designs produce satisfactory and comparable clinical outcomes. However, BP has the advantage of less hardware prominence, no need for hardware removal, and fewer long-term complications.

To evaluate the diagnostic performance of net influx rate (Ki) values from a whole-body dynamic (WBD) Ga-DOTATOC-PET/CT acquisition to differentiate pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (pNETs) from physiological uptake of pancreatic uncinate process (UP). Patients who were benefited from a WBD acquisition for the assessment of a known well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumor (NET)/suspicion of disease in the prospective GAPET-NET cohort were screened. Only patients with a confirmed pNET/UP as our gold standard were included. ⋯ For ratios, the TLRKi and the TSRKi had the best sensitivity (95.7%) while the TM/SM and TM/Sm the best specificity (100%). TLRKi had the best diagnostic accuracy (95.1%) and the best area under the curve (AUC) (0.990). Our study is the first one to evaluate the interest of a WBD acquisition to differentiate UP from pNETs and shows excellent diagnostic performances of the Ki approach.
