An esophago-bronchial fistula is one of the rare postoperative complications of esophageal cancer. There are various medical treatments, including suturing, endoscopic clip, and fibrin glue. However, these treatments often lead to unsatisfactory results, causing physicians to opt for surgical alternatives. The Over-The-Scope-Clipping (OTSC) system offers an alternative method for fistula closure. It can capture a large amount of tissue and is able to compress the lesion until it has fully healed. However, data indicating the efficacy of OTSC for esophago-bronchial fistula are limited. ⋯ We demonstrate that OTSC is useful in the management of esophago-bronchial fistulas, and may become a standard procedure for the endoscopic treatment of esophago-bronchial fistulas, replacing the use of stents, clips, or glue.

Health literacy of college freshmen in jiangsu, China: A 3-year longitudinal survey.
Health literacy (HL) has become an important public health issue and received growing attention in recent years. However, knowledge about the HL of adolescents and young adults is limited.[1] This study aimed to investigate the awareness rate of HL and its related factors among college freshmen in Jiangsu, China. And the results were used to support the promotion intervention to improve the HL of at-risk groups among this population. ⋯ Specifically, except for chronic diseases, knowledge and attitudes, knowledge and attitudes toward health-related behavior and lifestyle, health-related skill and scientific views of health, infection diseases, safety and first aid, medical care, health information awareness rate all have improved to a certain degree (P < .001). The independent factors associated with HL awareness rate were sex (odds ratio [OR] = 1.099, (1.039 -1.164)), residence (urban: OR = 1.141, (1.056∼1.234)), educational system (OR = 2.133, (1.975-2.305)), only child or not (OR = 1.087, (1.018-1.161)), family structure (OR = 1.192, (1.078-1.319)) and maternal education level (high school: OR = 1.183 (1.067-1.313); university and more: OR = 1.481 (1.324-1.658)). Awareness rate of HL of college freshmen is associated with multi-complex factors, further works are recommended to improve the HL levels of college freshmen, especially for the aspect of chronic diseases.

Risk factors for positive brain CT scan in children with traumatic brain injury and GCS = 15: A retrospective study.
It is controversial whether it is necessary to carry out head computed tomography (CT) examination for children who had a traumatic brain injury (TBI) but are conscious (Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) = 15). The present study explored the risk/predictive factors of positive CT results in children with mild closed head injury and GCS = 15. This was a retrospective study of children (0-18 years of age) with TBI and GCS = 15 and treated at the First People's Hospital of Wenling between 06/2013 and 06/2018. ⋯ The top three clinical symptoms were headache (201/279, 72.0%), scalp hematoma (133/279, 47.7%), and nausea with or without vomiting (105/279, 37.6%). The multivariable analysis showed that scalp hematoma (OR = 3.040, 95%CI: 1.791-5.159, P < .0001), ear and nostril bleeding or periorbital soft tissue contusion (OR = 2.234, 95%CI: 1.087-4.590, P = .029), and nausea with or without vomiting (OR = 2.186, 95%CI: 1.255-3.810, P = .006) were independently associated with positive results of head CT. For children with TBI and GCS = 15, the factors independently associated with positive CT results are scalp hematoma, ear and nostril bleeding or periorbital soft tissue contusion, and nausea with or without vomiting.

Anti-IgLON5 disease with distinctive brain MRI findings responding to immunotherapy: A case report.
Anti-IgLON5 disease was first described as a progressive antibody-associated encephalopathy, with multiple non-specific clinical symptoms including sleep dysfunction, bulbar symptoms, progressive supranuclear palsy-like syndrome, cognitive impairment, and a variety of movement disorders. This newly discovered disease presents with unremarkable or unspecific brain magnetic resonance imagings (MRI), and have poor responsiveness to immunotherapy. ⋯ In this paper, we report a new case of anti-IgLON5 disease with major symptoms of gait instability, dysarthria, and oculomotor abnormalities, with distinctive brain MRI findings, and responsive to immunotherapy.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a common chronic disease and increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, metabolic and neuropsychiatric disorders, resulting in a considerable socioeconomic burden. This study aimed to identify potential key genes influence the mechanisms and consequences of OSA. Gene expression profiles related to OSA were obtained from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. ⋯ Decreased expression of the hub genes was association with OSA occurrence, and exhibited good performance in distinguishing OSA from normal samples based on ROC analysis. Besides, the Pearson method revealed a strong correlation between hub genes, which indicates that they may act in synergy, contributing to OSA and related disorders. This bioinformatics research identified 4 hub genes, including GDNF, SLC2A2, PRL, and SST which may be new potential biomarkers for OSA and related disorders.
