Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a life-threatening disease, which accounts for the major type of venous thromboembolism. Currently, there is limited understanding and management for PE. Rivaroxaban is reported to treat patients with PE. ⋯ After treatment, rivaroxaban mono-therapy showed better benefits in decreasing the duration of hospital stay (P < .01), increasing treatment satisfaction (P < .01), and reducing mild bleeding (P = .02) in Chinese patients with acute PE, than standard therapy. The results of this study indicated that rivaroxaban may provide more benefits than the standard therapy for Chinese patients with acute PE. Future studies are still needed to warrant the current results.

Nonthermal atmospheric pressure (NAP) plasmas have recently been developed and have been used for wound healing, blood coagulation, and cancer therapy. NAP plasmas can induce either cell proliferation or cell death, depending on the dose. Due to their efficacy and application easily, plasma activated mediums (PAMs) have been used in human cells recently. ⋯ The NAP-PAM-treated human hair follicle DPCs recovered gradually after 48 hours of the treatment compared to the untreated cells. Therefore, this approach offers promising results for further application of NAP-PAM in clinical dermatology. In future, it can be applied clinically in the form of active water that can delay the progression of baldness and alopecia areata.

This study was aimed at assessing the impact of the dusk phenomenon on the total glucose exposure in Chinese people with type 2 diabetes. A total of 380 type 2 diabetes who received a retrospective continuous glucose monitoring system (CGMs) for 72 hours were enrolled in our study, 32 of them failed in CGMs. The patients were first divided into 2 groups: dusk phenomenon (n = 95) and non dusk phenomenon group (n = 253). ⋯ The correlation analysis showed no relationship between the magnitude of dawn phenomenon and the dusk phenomenon (r = 0.052, P = .472). The incidence of dusk phenomenon is about 27.3% in people with type 2 diabetes. The impacts of dusk phenomenon on HbA1c and 24-hour mean glucose were about 0.4% and 0.9 mmol/L and the dusk phenomenon was not related with the dawn phenomenon.

Meta Analysis
Yu ping feng san for pediatric allergic rhinitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
The potential treatment effects and safety of Yu ping feng san (YPFS) for pediatric allergic rhinitis (PAR) patients have yet to be studied systematically. ⋯ Current evidence cannot support the routine use of YPFS for treatment of PAR. This may be due to poor-quality study-design limitations of the included YPFS studies. Our data showed that the use of YPFS for PAR is relatively safe compared to Western medical therapy, but a conclusion could not be drawn because only 5 studies were analyzed. Every study suffered from some methodological limitation. Therefore, further large, rigorously-designed studies are necessary to determine conclusively the utility of YPFS in PAR.

Review Case Reports
Ectopic insulinoma diagnosed by 68Ga-Exendin-4 PET/CT: A case report and review of literature.
Ectopic insulinomas are extremely rare and challenging to diagnose for clinicians. Precise preoperative localization is essential to successful treatment. ⋯ This case shows that 68Gallium-exendin-4 PET/CT is useful for precise localization and thereby successful treatment of insulinoma, especially for occult insulinomas and those derived from an ectopic pancreas.
