Nasal douching or irrigation has been recommended for adjunctive therapy of sinonasal diseases including allergic rhinitis (AR) for many years. Previous study reported large-volume high-pressure device as an effective standard application, but the solutions was remains controversy. This study systematically review the clinical efficacy of nasal irrigation with various solutions for adults with AR from medical literature. ⋯ The results of the systematic review will summarize the efficacy of various nasal irrigation for adults with AR, so it can be used as clinician recommendation.

Distigmine bromide is a cholinesterase (ChE) inhibitor used to treat dysuria due to a hypotonic bladder. We encountered a case of cholinergic crisis caused by distigmine bromide, which resulted in a rapid decrease in serum ChE levels, hypothermia, respiratory failure, and circulatory failure within a short period of time. ⋯ ChE levels and symptoms before onset may not be useful for the early detection and prevention of adverse effects of cholinergic crisis caused by distigmine bromide. In addition to known risks such as renal impairment and older age, constipation should be recognized and communicated as a risk factor.

Diabetic cardiomyopathy, secondary to diabetes, is the main cause of death in patients with diabetes. In China, traditional Chinese medicine has achieved good performance in treating diabetic cardiomyopathy. However, to date, no systematic review or meta-analysis has been published on the treatment of diabetic cardiomyopathy by traditional Chinese medicine. ⋯ The results of this study provide evidence-based medical evidence for the clinical use of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of diabetic heart disease in the future.

Network module function enrichment analysis of lung squamous cell carcinoma and lung adenocarcinoma.
Lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC) and lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) are the two major subtypes of non-small cell lung cancer that pose a serious threat to human health. However, both subtypes currently lack effective indicators for early diagnosis. ⋯ We found biomarker genes and biological pathways for LUSC and LUAD. These network hub genes are associated with clinical characteristics and patient outcomes and they may play important roles in LUSC and LUAD.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) surveillance can detect the early stage of tumors and lead to improved survival. Adherence to guideline-concordant HCC surveillance is crucial in at-risk populations, including patients with hepatic C virus (HCV) cirrhosis. This study was conducted to identify patient and provider factors associated with nonadherence to HCC surveillance in patients with HCV cirrhosis. ⋯ Patients who primarily received care from physicians practicing in larger hospitals were significantly less likely to exhibit nonadherence. HCC surveillance rates remain unacceptably low among high-risk patients, and our findings may be helpful in the development of effective interventions to increase HCC surveillance. The effective incorporation of HCC surveillance into routine visits for other chronic comorbidities, particularly for CAD or COPD, may be crucial for increasing HCC surveillance.
