Randomized Controlled Trial
A comparative investigator-initiated pilot study on the efficacy and safety of biodegradable microneedle acupuncture and conventional intradermal acupuncture for dry eye patient: A superiority, assessor-blinded, randomized controlled trial.
The prevalence of dry eye, which is a common lacrimal disease, is steadily increasing in modern society. However, fundamental treatment for it has not yet been established. This study aims to assess the efficacy and safety of a novel medical device, the biodegradable microneedle acupuncture (BMA), using a traditional intradermal acupuncture needle as the control acupuncture for dry eye. ⋯ The findings of this study on the efficacy and safety of the BMA would be helpful for patients with dry eye in clinical practice. Further, these results would provide for the foundation of a large-scale BMA study.

Case Reports
An unusual presentation of diabetic ketoacidosis associated with ascariasis and fungal esophagitis: A case report.
Gastrointestinal symptoms are most commonly observed in patients with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), which usually resolves completely with therapy. However, gastrointestinal symptoms may persist after DKA is resolved. ⋯ In this case, despite the correction of metabolic acidosis, persistent nausea, vomiting and dysphagia can be a sign of esophagitis in patients with type 1 diabetes. Therefore, physicians should be aware of fungal infections associated with type 1 diabetes.

Case Reports
Acquired uterine arteriovenous malformation in a patient with cornual pregnancy: A case report.
Acquired uterine arteriovenous malformation (uAVM) is a rare disease and could occur after dilation and curettage, cesarean section, or neoplastic processes. ⋯ We report an extremely unusual case of acquired uAVM after a wedge resection of cornual pregnancy. Ultrasound evaluation of patients with post-operative persistent bleeding should be considered for evaluation of a possible arteriovenous malformation.
