Acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF) is a syndrome characterized by an acute deterioration of liver function in cirrhotic patients. Since treatment of this condition is difficult, its prevention is of paramount importance. The predictors of ACLF are yet to be identified. ⋯ Among these, the FIB-4 index score correlated best with ACLF severity for identifying cirrhotic patients with poor prognosis. The FIB-4 index is the most useful predictor of ACLF severity. Careful management of cirrhotic patients with a high FIB-4 index score is considered beneficial to prevent ACLF occurrence.

Myxoid pleomorphic liposarcoma (MPL) is a rare aggressive adipocytic tumor that mainly presents in children and adolescents. It is most frequently observed in the mediastinum and rarely in the head and neck, perineal region, or back. Herein, we report the first published case of MPL of the teres minor muscle. ⋯ Although MPL in the teres minor muscle is rare, it should be considered in the differential diagnosis in patients with a mass in the teres minor muscle due to its poor prognosis.

A common concern in the literature is the comparison of the similarities and differences between research journals, as well as the types of research they publish. At present, there are no clear methodologies that can be applied to a given article of interest. When authors use an effective and efficient method to locate journals in similar fields, they benefit greatly. By using the forest plot and major medical subject headings (MeSH terms) of Spine (Phila Pa 1976) compared to Spine J, this study: displays relatively similar journals to the target journal online and identifies the effect of the similarity odds ratio of Spine (Phila Pa 1976) compared to Spine J. ⋯ The SNA and forest plot provide a detailed overview of the inter-journal relationships and the target journal using MeSH terms. Based on the findings of this research, readers are provided with knowledge and concept diagrams that can be used in future submissions to related journals.

HELLP syndrome, a rare but serious obstetric complication, is often overdiagnosed due to its nonspecific symptoms and inappropriate clinical testing. ⋯ Our case highlights that HELLP syndrome is a serious complication, and it should be diagnosed carefully and not arbitrarily on the basis of some abnormal indicators and stable clinical manifestations. Accurate early identification, active monitoring and management are essential for improving prognosis and avoiding maternal or infant mortality.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is a malignant bone tumor of mesenchymal origin. Angelica dahurica is a typical traditional Chinese herb. Angelica dahurica is used in the treatment of a variety of tumors. ⋯ In addition, molecular docking results showed that sen-byakangelicol, beta-sitosterol, and Prangenin, have a relatively high potential to become a treatment for patients with OS and improve 5-year survival in OS patients. We used network pharmacology and molecular docking methods to predict the active ingredients and significant targets of Angelica dahurica for the treatment of OS and, to a certain extent, elucidated the potential molecular mechanism of Angelica dahurica in the treatment of OS. This study provided a theoretical basis for Angelica dahurica in the treatment of OS.
