Axillary staging is 1 of the major issues of current breast cancer management after neoadjuvant systemic therapy (NST). Sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) is an option for clinically node negative patients. Axillary reverse mapping (ARM) was introduced to identify and preserve the lymphatic drainage from the arm. ⋯ The triple mapping provides valuable data regarding the competency of lymphatic drainage and would have the potential to serve selecting patients for lymphovenous by-pass procedures at the index procedure. NST reduces the metastatic involvement of the ARM nodes. However, conservative axillary staging with sparing ARM nodes after NST necessitates further studies with larger sample size and longer follow-up.

Postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) is the most common complication of shingling. Herbal medicine for PHN is clinically used to improve chronic pain and other symptoms that reduce the quality of life (QoL), such as sleep disturbances and emotional problems. This study aims to describe methods for synthesizing evidence for the effectiveness and safety of herbal medicine for treating PHN. ⋯ This study will provide evidence for herbal medicine as a potential treatment for PHN which is advantageous not only for patients but also for researchers and policymakers.

Novel corona virus disease 2019 is the major threat for human life nowadays worldwide. This study aims to assess the knowledge, attitude and practices regarding COVID-19 among patients with type 2 diabetes attending Abdullah Khalil diabetes center (Omdurman Teaching Hospital). A facility-based observational descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out between January and February 2021, using non-probability quota sampling technique in Abdullah-Khalil diabetes center via the use of a structured close-ended interview questionnaire. ⋯ Most respondents had good knowledge, positive attitude and good practices as 78.7%, 97.6%, and 69.9%, respectively. Educational level and source of information showed statistically significant association with the knowledge, attitude. However, the practice showed only statistical association with the mass media as a source of information (P = .006).

Patients with traumatic carotid-cavernous fistula (TCCF) usually go to the ophthalmology department first because of the symptoms such as protrusion of eyes, edema and congestion of combined membrane, vision loss and so on. It is easy to be misdiagnosed and missed. ⋯ Interventional treatment of TCCF is effective.

Distal tibial tubercle-high tibial osteotomy with assistance of modifiable spreader in the treatment of varus knee osteoarthritis: A retrospective observational study.
As one of the knee preservation surgical approaches, good clinical outcomes of high tibial osteotomy were reported. Aims of this study were to analyze the clinical outcome and pre- and postoperative radiographical parameter and knee functional score between distal tibial tubercle high tibial osteotomy (DTTHTO) and open wedge- high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO) in patients with varus knee osteoarthritis after more than 1 year following-up. A total of 194 consecutive patients in our joint center from March 2016 to October 2021 were enrolled, according to the surgical method, patients were divided into DDTHTO and OWHTO groups. ⋯ When comparing the operation time, intraoperative blood loss and bone union time, DHHTO group shows a superiority in these variables over patients in OWHTO (121 ± 29.6 vs 145.7 ± 35.2 minutes, 115.0 ± 20.8 vs 103.3 ± 17.3 mL, 13.7 ± 4.1 vs 12.0 ± 2.8 weeks; P < .005) and incidence of complication was lower for DTTHTO group. DTTHTO in patients with varus knee osteoarthritis has good clinical outcomes, and it can achieve a better postoperative alignment. Operation time and surgical trauma were also less in patients who underwent DTTHTO.
