Review Case Reports
Primary mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma in fallopian tubes: A case report and literature review.
Mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma accounts for 7%-8% of newly diagnosed lymphomas. The stomach is the most common organ of origin (nearly 50% of MALT lymphomas). Only 2% of MALT lymphomas arise from the female genital tract, and most originated from uterus. We described a rare case of MALT lymphoma primarily arising from the fallopian tube. ⋯ Gynecologists should be aware of cystic masses which showed rich vasculature and high level of CA-125.

This study investigated the safety, feasibility, and clinical outcomes of natural orifice specimen extraction surgery (NOSES) by collecting clinical from patients who underwent complete laparoscopic radical resection for colorectal cancer versus those who underwent conventional laparoscopic radical resection for colorectal cancer. Patients with colorectal cancer were selected as the study sample and grouped according to the different surgical methods. A total of 182 patients were eligible for enrollment in the study, including 92 patients who underwent NOSES (NOSES group) and 90 patients who underwent conventional laparoscopic radical colorectal cancer surgery. ⋯ Diabetes mellitus, prolonged drain retention, and prolonged operative time were risk factors for the development of abdominal infection in NOSES. In contrast, intraoperative use of specimen retrieval bags, use of transanal endoscopic operations, and intraoperative flushing of the abdominal cavity with dilute iodophenol were protective factors for the development of postoperative abdominal infections. NOSES for colorectal cancer is worth promoting because of its small trauma and quick postoperative recovery.

Femoral nerve block is a widely accepted nerve block method with evident reduction in consumption of opioid painkiller and minimization of the duration of hospital stay but may cause weakness of quadriceps muscle strength. Adductor canal block is another nerve block technique that attracts the attention of scientific community nowadays because of its possible superiority over Femoral nerve block regarding mobility and muscle strength. ⋯ Both femoral nerve block and adductor canal block provide similar results regarding pain control and opioid consumption, however adductor canal block provides better preservation of quadriceps strength and mobilization, giving it more advantage over femoral nerve block.

It is thought that genetic factors may play an important role in the development of coronary artery disease (CAD). Several studies report that AGT polymorphism is implicated in CAD susceptibility, but these results contradict those of the other studies with the associations being unclear in the Eastern Asian population. Therefore, meta-analysis was performed to evaluate this relationship. ⋯ In the Eastern Asian population, especially the Chinese, the M235T of AGT is associated with CAD susceptibility. The T174M polymorphisms were associated with CAD risk in the Eastern Asian population.
