To evaluate the effects of Chêneau bracing on Cobb's angle (CA) and spinopelvic parameters in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) patients. In this retrospective study, we evaluated 51 AIS patients who received Chêneau bracing treatment between January 2020 and August 2021. The prebracing and in-bracing radiographs were analyzed about the spinopelvic parameters. ⋯ Chêneau's bracing effects of AIS can be extended to the pelvis. Affected by the Chêneau brace, the pelvis should be retro-rotated correspondingly to TLK hyperkyphosis on the sagittal plane, whereas in the coronal plane, pelvic obliquity was improved independently. The effect of Chêneau braces on the pelvic parameters should be fully considered before bracing treatment.

Case report: Biallelic variants in POLR3B gene lead to 4H leukodystrophy from the study of brother and sister.
4H leukodystrophy, one of POLR3-related leukodystrophy, is a rare hereditary brain white matter disease caused by the pathogenic biallelic variations in POLR3A, POLR3B, or POLR1C. Hypomyelination, hypodontia, and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism is mainly presented in patients with 4H leukodystrophy. ⋯ The exploration of molecular functions and genetic counseling are crucial for further diagnosis and treatment of POLR3-related leukodystrophy.

Diffused bladder wall calcification in a survivor with severe coronavirus disease 2019: A case report.
Bladder calcification is a rare presentation that was first interpreted to be related to a urea-splitting bacterial infection. Aside from infection, other hypotheses such as schistosomiasis, tuberculosis, cancer, and cytokine-induced inflammatory processes have also been reported. Severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is known for its provoking cytokine storm and uninhibited systematic inflammation, and calcification over the coronary artery or lung has been reported as a long-term complication. ⋯ Diffuse bladder calcification may be a urinary tract sequela of COVID-19 infection. Patients with de novo lower urinary tract symptoms after severe COVID-19 should be further investigated.

Leigh syndrome (LS) is a rare, progressive, and fatal neurodegenerative disease that occurs mainly in infants and children. Neonatal LS has not yet been fully described. ⋯ Lip cyanosis is an important initial symptom in LS. Mild upper respiratory tract infections can induce LS and aggravate the disease. No abnormal changes in the brain MRI were observed in the early LS stages in this patient. Multiple MRIs and blood lactic acid tests during disease progression and genetic testing are important for prompt and accurate diagnosis of LS.

Radiomics (RC) was initially developed using computed tomography (CT) for oncological imaging. However, it can be applied to various scientific and clinical radiology fields regardless of the modalities involved. The purpose of this survey was to evaluate alterations in magnetic resonance imaging of the heart (CMR) in patients suffering from autoimmune thyroid disorders (AITD) by applying RC tools and mapping features. ⋯ Global native T1 and T2 mapping revealed no significant differences between groups. However, we identified significantly higher values of several texture parameters, including the gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) entropy, gray-level run-length matrix (GLRLM; short-run high gray-level emphasis (SRHGE), GLCM (Energy), gray-level size zone matrix length matrix (GLZLM; LZLGE), GLZLM (SZLGE), DISCRETIZED (HISTO-Energy) GLCM (Dissimilarity), and GLCM (Contrast), in patients with AITD in comparison to the CG (P < .01). Our results indicate that several RC properties extracted from CMR images can be used to discriminate between the AITD and CG groups.
