Patients of end-stage renal disease are prone to have a very low quality of life (QoL). Variety of factors influence the QoL among sufferers of chronic kidney disease comprising of type of dialysis, sufficiency/adequacy of dialysis, and associated burden of disease. We conducted this study amidst the pandemic to determine the associated factors for poor QoL in hemodialysis patients during the ongoing pandemic. ⋯ Inadequate dialysis due to lesser frequency per week leading to poorly cleared toxic substances were most significant contributors of poor QoL in our study.

This is a retrospective study. Our aim was to investigate the risk factors related to dysphagia following anterior surgery treating the multilevel cervical disorder with kyphosis based on a subgroup of follow-up time. Finally, a total of 81 patients suffering from the multilevel cervical disorder with kyphosis following anterior surgery from July 2018 to June 2020 were included in our study. ⋯ In the present study, many factors were found to be related to dysphagia within 3-month after surgery. Notably, a history of smoking and lower preoperative SWAL-QOL score were associated with dysphagia at any follow-up. We hope this article can provide a reference for spinal surgeons to predict which patients were susceptible to suffering from dysphagia after anterior surgery in the treatment of multilevel cervical disorder with kyphosis.

With the aging of the population, the number of people with age-related memory complaints has also increased. The purpose of this study was to develop a cognitive rehabilitation program based on mnemonic skills and memory compensatory strategies (CRM) and to investigate the effects of CRM in community-dwelling older adults without dementia. ⋯ CRM improved cognitive function in two distinct populations, older adults with normal cognitive function and older adults with MCI. Additionally, our preliminary findings suggest that older adults with MCI show cognitive improvement in both the trained and non-trained cognitive domains.

The purpose of this study is to screen and evaluate cosmetic products for sensitive skin on the face. ⋯ The subjective feeling of application and efficacy of cosmetics in people with sensitive skin could be successfully evaluated by the comprehensive application of human skin enclosed patch test, long-term trial test, subjective safety evaluation and objective efficacy evaluation. And it provides the basis to judge whether the cosmetic is consistent with the efficacy claim of sensitive skin.

Dynamic contrast-enhanced MR imaging (DCE-MRI) has been widely used for the evaluation of renal arteries. This method is also useful for tumor and renal parenchyma characterization. The very fast MRI may provide stable and precise information regarding vasculature and soft tissues. ⋯ DCE-MRI for the evaluation of renal vasculatures and tumors using F-DISCO with or without CS can be performed with high temporal and spatial resolutions in normal and wide-bore 3T systems. This information can be obtained in a stable fashion throughout the dynamic contrast study. CS can additionally provide benefits that the total imaging time may be shorter than without CS.
