We modified the blind Seldinger technique by incorporating ultrasound guidance and the use of a multifunctional bladder paracentesis trocar for PD catheter (PDC) placement, which can be easily performed by a nephrologist and is a feasible technique. To compare success rates and safety of our modified percutaneous PD catheter placement technique to open surgery. ⋯ Percutaneous placement of PD catheters using our modified technique demonstrates superior success rates and safety compared to open surgery. In addition, our modified technique can be a better alternative to traditional Seldinger percutaneous catheterization for its higher success rate and safety, more accurate positioning.

Subdural anaplastic large-cell lymphoma presenting as a subacute epidural hematoma on imaging: A case report.
Subdural anaplastic large-cell lymphoma (SALCL) is an extremely rare subtype of primary central nervous system (CNS) lymphoma. Here, we report a very rare subdural lymphoma case, which was misdiagnosed as a subacute epidural hematoma based on the radiological examination. ⋯ This report shows a rare radiography presentation of SALCL. SALCL can mimic the appearance of an epidural hematoma and should be regarded as a differential diagnosis even in patients with a history of craniocerebral injury and the "typical" imaging appearance of an epidural hematoma. The report is hoped to provide a scientific reference for the clinical diagnosis of subdural lymphoma.

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) has been used in clinical practice for over 50 years. This study aims to investigate the current state of research in the field of ERCP. ⋯ Except for Germany, research on ERCP will continue to increase in the top-producing countries. The outputs per capita and quality of articles from developed countries are higher than those from developing countries.

Anaplastic astrocytoma (AA) is a malignant carcinoma whose pathogenesis remains to be fully elucidated. System biology techniques have been widely used to clarify the mechanism of diseases from a systematic perspective. The present study aimed to explore the pathogenesis and novel potential biomarkers for the diagnosis of AA according to metabolic differences. ⋯ In total, 24 differentiated metabolites and 5 metabolic pathways, including sphingolipid, glycerophospholipid, caffeine, linoleic acid, and porphyrin metabolism, were identified based on the OPLS-DA model. 3-Methylxanthine, sphinganine, LysoPC(18:1), and lactosylceramide were recognized as potential biomarkers with excellent sensitivity and specificity (area under the curve > 98%). These findings indicate that the perturbed metabolic pattern related to immune regulation and cellular signal transduction is associated with the pathogenesis of AA. 3-Methylxanthine, sphinganine, LysoPC(18:1), and lactosylceramide could be used as biomarkers of AA in future clinical practice. This study provides a therapeutic basis for further studies on the mechanism and precise clinical diagnosis of AA.

Prenatal bleeding is very dangerous for pregnant women with placenta previa during termination of pregnancy in the mid-trimester. Traditionally, cesarean section or hysterectomy is used to stop bleeding. This study aims to investigate the method for termination of mid-trimester pregnancy with placenta previa, especially emergency uterine artery embolization (UAE) combined with cervical double balloon (CDB). ⋯ The combined therapy of mifepristone and Misoprostol/Ethacridine Lactate was useful for termination of mid-trimester pregnancy with placenta previa, and attention needs to be attached to prenatal hemorrhage during labor induction. Emergency UAE + CDB is a good combination method to treat prenatal hemorrhage and promote cervical ripening during the induction.
