The presence of diabetes mellitus (DM) has a critical influence on the occurrence and development of endometrial cancer (EC) and is associated with a poor prognosis. Patients with DM are twice as likely to progress to EC, probably because a high-glucose environment contributes to the growth and invasiveness of EC cells. ⋯ Early treatment with metformin is expected to be an effective adjuvant alternative for EC in the future. This knowledge is important for further opening up preventive and therapeutic strategies for EC by targeting glucose metabolism.

Metastasis is the second most common type of adrenal gland mass. In patients undergoing follow-up for nonadrenal malignancy, adrenalectomy is performed when metastasis to adrenal gland is suspected on the basis of positron emission tomography-computed tomography (PET-CT) imaging. This study investigated the efficacy of PET-CT in the discrimination of metastatic lesions from nonmetastatic lesions in the adrenal glands. ⋯ There was no statistical difference when each group was divided as low and high (P > .05). It was found that PET-CT was able to discriminate metastatic lesions from primary benign lesions (P = .022). PET-CT can discriminate primary benign lesions and metastatic lesions by cutoff 5.5 value for a-SUVx.

This systematic review evaluates the effect of exercise training in the treatment of patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). ⋯ This meta-analysis demonstrated a positive effect of exercise training in people with MCI in relation to cognitive and physical function. These findings suggest exercise interventions be persistent, and reveal that more high-quality researches are needed.

Self-expandable metal stent (SEMS) placement is commonly used for palliation of left-sided malignant colorectal obstruction (MCO). However, right-sided MCO is usually treated surgically. Recent studies that compared palliative SEMS insertion and emergency surgery in right-sided MCOs have reported conflicting results. ⋯ The use of covered stents and performance status score of 0 to 2 were independent significant risk factors for complications. Palliative SEMS placement in right-sided MCO showed better clinical success rates than left-sided MCO. The use of uncovered stents is recommended for higher clinical success rates and lower complication rates.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that occurs during early childhood. The change from being normal across several contexts to displaying the behavioral phenotype of ASD occurs in infants and toddlers with autism. Findings provided by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based research owing to the developmental phase, including potential pathways underlying the pathogenesis of the condition and the potential for signs and symptomatic risk prediction. ⋯ This review reveals that brain changes seen in MRI are highly correlated with the signs and symptoms of autism. There are numerous distinct features noted in an autistic brain using MRI. Based on these findings, various developmental brain paths and autistic behavior culminate in a typical diagnosis, and it is possible that addressing these trajectories would improve the accuracy in which children are detected and provide the necessary treatment.
