Renovascular disease and hyperthyroidism are secondary hypertension. Takayasu arteritis (TAK) is a chronic, progressive, nonspecific great vasculitis involving the aorta and its major branches. It is one of the causes of renal artery stenosis. Hyperthyroidism is an endocrine disease caused by improper continuous synthesis and secretion of excessive thyroid hormone by the thyroid gland. Both diseases can raise blood pressure (BP). ⋯ It is suggested that the BP of both upper limbs should be measured in newly diagnostic hypertension. If BP is not measured in both upper limbs, it is likely to be missed diagnosis. The cause of vascular stenosis needs to be identified, otherwise interventional treatment may lead to aggravation of the condition. Few cases of TAK complicated with hyperthyroidism have been reported. Both diseases are related to the immune system, whether there is any correlation between the 2 diseases, further research is needed. Early diagnosis, early treatment, the earlier intervention, the better prognosis.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease involving multiple systems. Its recurrent episodes and fluctuating disease courses have a severe impact on patients. Biomarkers to predict disease prognosis and remission are still lacking in SLE. ⋯ Finally, further immune infiltration analysis showed differences in various immune cells in the SLE and healthy control samples. ARID2, CYSTM1, DDIT3, and RNASE1 can affect the immune function of SLE patients. ARID2, CYSTM1, DDIT3, and RNASE1 could be used as immune-related potential biomarkers and therapeutic or diagnostic targets for further research.

This study aimed to develop and validate a nomogram for predicting the overall survival of cervical adenocarcinoma (CAC) patients using a large database comprising patients with different ethnicities. We enrolled primary CAC cases with complete clinicopathological and survival data from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results program during 2004 to 2015. For training set samples, this work applied the Cox regression model to obtain factors independently associated with patient prognosis, which could be incorporated in constructing the nomogram. ⋯ As revealed by time-independent area under the curves, our constructed nomogram had superior 5-year overall survival over FIGO system. Additionally, according to decision curve analysis, our constructed nomogram showed high clinical usefulness as well as favorable discrimination. Our constructed nomogram attains favorable performances, indicating that it may be applied in predicting survival for CAC patients.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Effectiveness of low-intensity atorvastatin 5 mg and ezetimibe 10 mg combination therapy compared with moderate-intensity atorvastatin 10 mg monotherapy: A randomized, double-blinded, multi-center, phase III study.
We compared the efficacy and safety of low-intensity atorvastatin and ezetimibe combination therapy with moderate-intensity atorvastatin monotherapy in patients requiring cholesterol-lowering therapy. ⋯ The addition of ezetimibe to low-intensity atorvastatin had a greater effect on lowering LDL cholesterol than moderate-intensity atorvastatin alone, offering an effective treatment option for cholesterol management, especially in patients with low and intermediate risks.

Meta Analysis
The therapeutic efficacy of guided therapy for PCI after acute myocardial infarction: A meta-analysis.
To systematically evaluate the effects of lead therapies on percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI). ⋯ Based on the current study, combining conventional therapy/ exercise or using simple lead therapy after PCI can improve the treatment effect and improve the quality of life.
