Adenomyoma recurrence 7 years after laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy: A case report and literature review.
Adenomyosis, a gynecological condition characterized by endometrial tissue within the uterine myometrium, often leads to menstrual pain and heavy bleeding, significantly affecting the quality of life. The primary treatment for adenomyosis and leiomyomas is hysterectomy. However, in rare instances, these conditions can recur in the cervical stump following a hysterectomy. Here, we present a case of cervical adenomyoma development after a prior laparoscopic supracervical hysterectomy. ⋯ The case presented here highlights the potential occurrence of cervical adenomyoma following a supracervical hysterectomy. Management options include hormone therapy and surgical excision. Furthermore, annual follow-up comprising ultrasound and pap smear evaluations is recommended for patients with supracervical hysterectomies to detect and address possible recurrences.

Application of platelet-rich-plasma in the postoperative treatment of perianal abscess pseudohealing: A case report.
Perianal abscess is a common disease of the anus and intestine. Surgery is an important treatment option for perianal abscess. However, some patients have a long healing time, poor healing effect after surgery, or even pseudo-healing. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is rich in platelets that can release a large number of factors when activated and promote wound healing. Moreover, there are few reports on the use of PRP for wounds that are difficult to heal after perianal abscess surgery. ⋯ PRP is a novel treatment option for pseudo-healing.

Hypertension is one of the chronic diseases that threaten the health of the elderly population. This study aims to explore the treatment and medication preferences in Chinese elderly patients (≥45 years old) with hypertension, and to investigate the relevant influencing factors. A cross-sectional design was adopted. ⋯ Patients' preference for TCM therapy was correlated positively with the provincial economic welfare factor, and negatively with the provincial medical and social welfare factors. During treatment of patients with hypertension, clinicians should pay attention to their preferences and formulate personalized regimens for them, in order to improve their compliance with treatment. Additionally, the government should steadily improve the local medical benefits, thereby facilitating the promotion and application of local TCM services.

Despite advancements in preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic activities in medicine, inflammatory processes of the central nervous system remain a significant problem, posing a serious threat to life and health. Purulent central nervous system infections are unique, including abscesses of the brain and spine, which are severe infections occurring in 0.4% to 0.9% of 1000 patients worldwide. Central nervous system abscesses have varying etiology. ⋯ Sometimes, the condition of patients with brain abscesses is severe and life-threatening. Therefore, detecting and eliminating all causes early, including those potentially resulting from odontogenic infections, is important; accurate and early diagnosis enables appropriate treatment. This paper presents a review of the information available in the literature on brain abscesses and their relationship with odontogenic foci of infection in the oral cavity.

Ischemic strokes (ISs) are commonly treated by intravenous thrombolysis using a recombinant tissue plasminogen activator; however, successful treatment can only occur within 3 hours after the stroke. Therefore, it is crucial to determine the causes and underlying molecular mechanisms, identify molecular biomarkers for early diagnosis, and develop precise preventive treatments for strokes. We aimed to clarify the differences in gene expression, molecular mechanisms, and drug prediction approaches between IS and myocardial infarction (MI) using comprehensive bioinformatics analysis. ⋯ Moreover, 8 hub genes, 2 miRNAs, and 3 TFs for IS and 8 hub genes, 13 miRNAs, and 2 TFs for MI were screened. The molecular pathology between IS and MI presented differences in terms of GO and KEGG enrichment pathways, TFs, miRNAs, and drugs. These findings provide possible directions for the diagnosis of IS and MI in the future.
