Meta Analysis
Diagnostic value of circulating miRNA in the benign and malignant lung nodules: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Lung cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide, and its diagnosis remains a significant challenge. Identifying effective methods to differentiate benign from malignant lung nodules is of paramount importance. This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the clinical utility of circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) for the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant lung nodules. ⋯ This meta-analysis demonstrated that circulating miRNAs hold substantial diagnostic value in distinguishing between benign and malignant lung nodules.

Gastric cancer (GC) is a global public health concern that poses a serious threat to human health owing to its high morbidity and mortality rates. Due to the lack of specificity of symptoms, patients with GC tend to be diagnosed at an advanced stage with poor prognosis. Therefore, the development of new treatment methods is particularly urgent. ⋯ Therefore, regulating oxidative stress pathways can not only intervene in CAG development but also prevent the occurrence and metastasis of GC and improve the prognosis of GC patients. In this study, PubMed, CNKI, and Web of Science were used to search for a large number of relevant studies. The review results suggested that the active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and TCM prescriptions could target and improve inflammation, pathological status, metastasis, and invasion of tumor cells, providing a potential new supplement for the treatment of CAG and GC.

Prevalence of depression and anxiety among diabetic patients in Egypt: A cross-sectional study.
Depression and anxiety are highly prevalent among diabetics and may reduce their quality of life. However, data is limited on the prevalence of depression and anxiety among Egyptian diabetics. Therefore, we aimed to assess the prevalence of anxiety and depression and their association with different demographics and comorbidities among Egyptian diabetics. ⋯ For anxiety, only the presence of depression was strongly associated with an increased risk of anxiety (OR = 2.99, 95% CI [2.12, 4.24]). Over one-third of Egyptian diabetics had depression and anxiety. Depression and anxiety may be associated with poor clinical outcomes in diabetics.

Establishment and validation of a clinical diagnostic model for gastric low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia.
A clinical diagnostic model of gastric low-grade intraepithelial neoplasia (LGIN) was developed and validated to improve the identification of precancerous lesions in gastric cancer. ⋯ This study provides a visual mathematical model that can be used to diagnose high-risk LGIN, improve follow-up or endoscopic treatment and the detection rate of precancerous gastric cancer lesions, reduce the incidence of gastric cancer, and provide a reliable basis for the treatment of LGIN.

Reports have suggested a relationship between coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination and new-onset or recurring renal diseases, of which immunoglobulin A (IgA) nephropathy is a representative disease. Alveolar hemorrhage in patients with IgA nephropathy is rare but reportedly has a high mortality and morbidity. To our knowledge, there have been no reports regarding the development of IgA nephropathy with alveolar hemorrhage following COVID-19 vaccination. ⋯ The present case suggested that although extremely rare, severe renal failure requiring renal replacement therapy could occur in patients with IgA nephropathy after COVID-19 vaccination. Future accumulation of similar cases is needed to predict the risk of renal injury following vaccination.
