This study aimed to compare health-promoting behaviors between middle-aged breast cancer survivors and matched non-cancer controls. We conducted a retrospective, cross-sectional, matched case-control study using data from Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (KNHANES) VI-VII (2013-2018) to compare health-promoting behaviors. We selected breast cancer survivors aged 40 to 65 who completed the surveys, and each case was matched with 5 non-cancer controls (1:5) based on propensity scores. ⋯ In the multivariable analysis, middle-aged breast cancer survivors were less likely to consume alcohol (odds ratio [OR] 0.58, 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.35-0.95), more likely to engage in aerobic PA (OR, 1.60; 95% CI, 1.01-2.54), and more likely to self-report diet control (OR, 2.12; 95% CI, 1.27-3.53). There were no significant intergroup differences in SPC screening uptake within 2 years, smoking status, or sedentary times. There is a need to educate middle-aged breast cancer survivors about SPC screening, smoking cessation, and minimizing sedentariness to reduce the risks of associated with breast cancer recurrence, SPCs, and comorbid chronic diseases.

At present, the extent of lymph node dissection (LND) for radical gallbladder cancer (GBC) is still controversial, and there is no evidence that LND improves prognosis, however, the latest guidelines for GBC recommend that removal of more than 6 lymph nodes facilitates staging of regional lymph nodes. The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of different LND methods on the number of lymph nodes detected and assess the prognostic factors during radical resection of GBC. This study retrospectively analyzed 133 patients (46 men and 87 women; average age: 64.01, range: 40-83 years) who underwent radical resection of GBC in a single center between July 2017 and July 2022, of which 41 underwent fusion lymph node dissection (FLND) and 92 underwent standard lymph node dissection (SLND). ⋯ Postoperative complications (8 vs 23, P > .05). The progression-free survival was 13 versus 8 months, the median survival time was 17 versus 9 months (P < .05). This study concluded that FLND can increase the detection rate of total lymph nodes and positive lymph nodes after surgery, which can prolong the survival time of patients.

In recent years, with population aging and economic development, morbidity and mortality of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease associated with atherosclerosis (AS) have gradually increased. In this study, a combination of network pharmacology and experimental verification was used to systematically explore the action mechanism of Yiqi Huoxue Huatan Recipe (YHHR) in the treatment of coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CAD). We searched and screened the active ingredients of Coptis chinensis, Astragalus membranaceus, Salvia miltiorrhiza, and Hirudo. ⋯ When compared with that in the model group, the expression of NF-κB p65mRNA decreased in the low-concentration YHHR group, with P < .05, while the expression of NF-κB p65mRNA decreased significantly in the high-concentration YHHR group, with P < .01. On the other hand, when compared with that in the model group, the expression of NF-κB p65 decreased in the low-concentration YHHR group, but was not statistically significant, while the expression of NF-κB p65 was significant in the high-concentration YHHR group, and has statistical significance with P < .05. YHHR has been shown to resist inflammation and AS through the SRC/NF-κB signaling pathway.

Amantadine hydrochloride is a risky drug for triggering delirium in dialysis patients; however, it is often administered casually. Furthermore, little is known regarding the recovery and prognosis of dialysis patients with amantadine-associated delirium. Data of this retrospective cohort study were collected from a local hospital database for hospitalizations between January 2011 and December 2020. ⋯ The increment (per 100 mg) of cumulative dose (P = .190, = 1.588, 95% CI = 0.395-3.172) tended to be a risk of delayed recovery. The area under curve of the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.867, with a sensitivity of 90.5% and a specificity of 82.4% at the cutoff point (cutoff = 0.432). For amantadine-associated delirium in dialysis patients with uneven seasonal distribution, early recovery with better prognosis should be the aim of treatment by giving priority to the remedy of insomnia.

A serous retinal detachment is one of the most likely ocular manifestation of Sturge-Weber syndrome (SWS). This finding can frequently occur as a complication after filtering surgery to maintain the intraocular pressure (IOP). Proper treatment has been approached with choroidal hemangioma as an organ target. To the best of our knowledge, various treatments for SRD are associated with diffuse choroidal hemangioma has been approached. However, a second retinal detachment following radiation therapy has worsened the situation. Here, we report an unexpected serous retina and choroidal detachment after non penetrating trabeculectomy. Although radiation therapy has been proposed for previous detachment to the ipsilateral eye in this case, repetition radiation therapy was not suggested concerning the health and quality of life especially in for young subjects. However, the kissing choroidal detachment in this case necessitated immediate intervention. Thus, posterior sclerectomy was performed for the recurrent retinal detachment. We believe that an intervention for a SWS case related complication will remain a significant and important to share as a public health contribution. ⋯ Sclerectomies to the inferotemporal quadrant of the globe for serous retinal detachment associated with SWS are considered efficient for optimal drain subretinal fluid, resulting in complete regression of detachment.
