This study aims to construct and validate a nomogram for the differential diagnosis of ovarian endometriosis cyst versus ovarian cystadenoma. We retrospectively studied the clinical characteristics of patients with ovarian endometriosis cysts and ovarian cystadenomas from January 1, 2021, to June 1, 2022. Independent risk factors for differential diagnosis were investigated using univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses. ⋯ The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) of the nomogram constructed using LDH, CA-125, and CA19-9 expression data was 0.873 (95% CI, 0.827-0.920), and the bootstrap-validated concordance index (C-index) was 0.871. Decision curve analysis confirmed that the nomogram model had excellent clinical utility. Based on serum lactate dehydrogenase combined with CA-125 and CA19-9, we constructed and validated a nomogram for the differential diagnosis of ovarian endometriosis cyst versus ovarian cystadenoma to help physicians formulate the optimal treatment strategy.

The correlation between driving risk and visual attention when using smartphones while driving in novice drivers.
Although many countries restrict the use of smartphones while driving, smartphones are utilized in various ways as there are limits to enforcement. Accordingly, efforts are made to determine the risks of novice drivers with low safety awareness and higher risk. This study observed and analyzed changes in visual attention and driving risks according to the way smartphones are used while driving and the scientific relationship between the 2 variables. ⋯ When novice drivers use smartphones while driving compared to when they do not use smartphones, changes in visual attention characteristics in the number and duration of eye blinks, eye fixations, and saccades increased the risk of accidents due to deceleration and lane departure. In particular, the risk increased the most when sending messages, and the risk of accidents continued although the increased burden due to smartphone use was compensated for by slowing down the speed. We hope that the findings of this study will be actively used in efforts to change novice drivers' traffic safety attitudes while driving.

This study aimed to assess the impact of the timing of low-dose hydrocortisone adjuvant therapy initiation on clinical outcomes in patients with septic shock by a systematic review and meta-analysis. ⋯ Administering low doses of HC early on can decrease the risk of death in septic shock patients in the short-term mortality. There were no substantial disparities observed in the rate of CRRT, the rate of reversal of shock, and the duration of stay in the ICU. Additional extensive RCTs are required to validate this conclusion.

Comparison of the effects on coagulation function and safety of bivalirudin and heparin in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention: A randomized trial.
To analyze the effects on coagulation function and safety of bivalirudin and heparin in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and provide clinical evidence for their application. ⋯ Bivalirudin has a slightly superior impact on coagulation function and safety profile in patients undergoing PCI compared to heparin, and the preventive effect of both on postoperative cardiovascular events is similar.

Repeated and prolonged exposure to pain can impair neurodevelopmental, behavioral, and cognitive outcomes in newborns. Effective pain management of newborns is essential, but there is no comprehensive analysis of the status of neonatal pain non-pharmacologic management research. Original publications related to the non-pharmacological management of neonatal pain were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) between 1989 and 2024. ⋯ Analysis of highly cited papers showed that the most referenced articles were published in the Clinical Journal of Pain. Researchers' interest in neonatal procedural pain has increased significantly over the past 30 years. This article can serve as a theoretical reference for future research on mild to moderate pain in neonates and infants, and it can provide ideas for exploring novel and secure pain management strategies.
