Hypertension is one of the most important chronic diseases worldwide. Hypertension is a critical condition encountered frequently in daily life, forming a significant area of service in Primary Health Care (PHC), which healthcare professionals often confront. It serves as a precursor to many critical illnesses and can lead to fatalities if not addressed promptly. ⋯ This study represents the first and comprehensive bibliometric analysis of hypertension in the PHC research area. Annual publication volumes have steadily increased over the years. In recent years, topics such as social determinants, patient attendance, self-management, diabetes mellitus, COVID-19, telemedicine, type 2 diabetes, and noncommunicable diseases have garnered significant interest in the field of PHC services.

This retrospective study explores the impact of comprehensive thermal insulation measures on the stress response of patients undergoing hysteroscopy surgery. A total of 600 patients who underwent hysteroscopy at our hospital from January 2018 to December 2022 were included. Participants were randomly assigned to an observation group (n = 305) and a control group (n = 295). ⋯ The incidence of intraoperative and postoperative complications in the observation group after surgery was lower than that in the control group (P < .001). Implementing a comprehensive thermal insulation protocol for patients undergoing hysteroscopy may help maintain core temperature and support immune response following surgery, potentially contributing to a smoother recovery process. Further research is warranted to confirm these findings and better understand the implications for patient care.

Characteristics, symptoms, and outcomes of patients with Vibrio vulnificus infection in Hainan, China: A retrospective study.
With global temperatures on the rise and an expanding seafood trade, infections by Vibrio vulnificus, particularly in warm coastal areas like Hainan, China, are increasingly prevalent. These bacteria are notorious for causing grave infections with a high fatality rate. This study aims to dissect the clinical features, laboratory findings, treatment modalities, and patient outcomes associated with V vulnificus infections in Hainan Province. ⋯ Vigilance for V vulnificus infections is crucial in coastal locales. The study endorses immediate and assertive treatment strategies, including the use of targeted antibiotics and surgical interventions, to enhance patient survival rates. A call for heightened awareness, intensified surveillance, and expanded research is essential to combat this life-threatening condition.

Effects of shared decision-making on the prognosis of peritoneal dialysis patients.
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients face critical decisions in choosing kidney replacement therapy such as hemodialysis (HD) or peritoneal dialysis (PD), which significantly affect their quality of life and health outcomes. Recent studies highlight the importance of shared decision-making (SDM) in helping patients understand their treatment options and make informed choices. SDM not only improves patient satisfaction and autonomy but also emphasizes the need for comprehensive pre-dialysis education to support optimal treatment selection. ⋯ This study emphasizes the benefits of SDM in reducing hospitalization days for PD patients, suggesting its potential role as a guide in future decisions regarding PD. PD provides a particularly beneficial home-based treatment alternative for patients facing challenges with hospital visits, supported by advanced technologies. Overseas, various countries are implementing policies and incentives to promote home dialysis, demonstrating the potential for SDM to enhance patient satisfaction and outcomes in dialysis care globally.

Neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease with subclinical peripheral neuropathy: A case report.
Neuronal intranuclear inclusion disease (NIID) is a slowly progressing neurodegenerative disease with various manifestations and high heterogeneity. Clinical characteristics, imaging, skin biopsy, and genetic testing are necessary for its diagnosis. Electromyography may also be a useful tool for diagnosing NIID. In this study, we report a patient with motor and sensory nerve demyelination changes accompanied by axonal damage. ⋯ We report a case of NIID with subclinical peripheral neuropathy, although the patient did not experience sensory symptoms such as numbness in the extremities. Electromyography can be used to detect subclinical peripheral nerve damage.
