Observational Study
Diagnostic value of CT in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at high altitude: Observational study.
This research aims to explore the diagnostic value of computed tomography (CT) indicators in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in a plateau of China, and to find out the correlation between CT indexes and lung function and symptoms. This study screened out 53 stable COPD patients and 53 healthy people through inclusion and exclusion criteria in Hongyuan county, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, between July 2020 and December 2020, and then collected their baseline data, conducted lung function tests and chest CT scans, and collected COPD Assessment Test (CAT), modified Medical Research Council Dyspnea Scale (mMRC) scores. The CT indexes of the 2 groups were compared, binary logistic regression was used to analyze the influence of COPD, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic value of the CT indexes for COPD. ⋯ All 3 indexes are negatively correlated with lung function, and positively correlated with the symptoms and the number of acute exacerbations. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the main factors for decrease of ratio of measurement to prediction of forced expiratory volume to the first second (FEV1%) included %LAA-950 (OR = -0.449, P < .001) and WA% (OR = -0.516, P < .001). CT indexes have a certain diagnostic value in patients with stable COPD at high altitude.

Recently, evidence has indicated that CTNNB1 is important in a variety of malignancies. However, how CTNNB1 interacts with immune cell infiltration remains to be further investigated. In this study, we focused on the correlations between CTNNB1 and tumorigenesis, tumor progression, mutation, phosphorylation, and prognosis via gene expression profiling interaction analysis; TIMER 2.0, cBioPortal, GTEx, CPTAC, and GEPIA2 database analyses; and R software. ⋯ We also identified the top CTNNB1-correlated genes in the TCGA projects and analyzed the expression correlation between CTNNB1 and selected target genes, including PPP4R2, RHOA, and SPRED1. Additionally, pathway enrichment suggested that NUMB is involved in the Wnt pathway. This study highlights the predictive role of CTNNB1 across cancers, suggesting that CTNNB1 might serve as a potential biomarker for the diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of various malignant tumors.

Qishen Yiqi dropping pills combined with modern medicine have been widely used as a treatment for coronary heart disease with ischemic heart failure. Currently, there have been no robust studies addressing the efficacy and safety of Qishen Yiqi dropping pills combined with modern medicine for coronary heart disease with ischemic heart failure. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis are conducted to fill in the gaps mentioned above. ⋯ Qishen Yiqi dropping pills combined with modern medicine could significantly improve clinical efficacy without incasement adverse effects. Further studies are required to identify the more comprise efficacy and safety results.

This study aimed to assess the therapeutic efficacy of moxibustion assisted therapy in combination with Qishen Tongmai Yin No. 1 on arteriosclerosis obliterans (ASO) patients. The impact on clinical symptoms, sign scores, foot dorsum temperature, foot dorsum artery blood flow, and overall clinical efficacy were analyzed. Sixty-three ASO patients from Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital and Beijing Shijitan Hospital (January 2020-December 2021) were divided into 3 groups: a Qi Shen Tong Mai Yin I-only group, a moxibustion-only group, and a combined treatment group receiving both moxibustion and Qi Shen Tong Mai Yin No. 1. ⋯ Moxibustion assisted therapy combined with Qishen Tongmai Yin No. 1 enhances total effective and cure rates in ASO patients, improving foot temperature, blood flow, microcirculation, and overall clinical efficacy. Additionally, this combination reduces scores for intermittent claudication, pain, skin temperature, soreness, skin color, and numbness, mitigating disease progression. Safety evaluation indicated no adverse events during treatment, demonstrating the safety of the combined therapy.

Dose-response effects of 8-week resistance training on body composition and muscular performance in untrained young women: A quasi-experimental design.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 8-week resistance training with different training volumes on body composition, maximum strength, peak power, and muscle thickness in non-training women. ⋯ In untrained young women, resistance training improved muscle hypertrophy, maximal strength, power, and body composition in untrained young women. However, 4 sessions MVT per week were superior to LVT and HVT sessions, suggesting a nonlinear dose-response relationship favoring moderate volume over low or high volumes, at least in previously untrained young women.
