Cadmium (Cd) is an environmental pollutant that can cause neurodegenerative disorders. Luteolin (Lut) is a natural flavonoid compound. However, whether Lut protects against Cd-induced nerve cell death remains unclear. ⋯ Moreover, inhibition of the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway with LY294002 (a PI3K inhibitor) enhanced the protective effect of Lut against Cd-induced cell death by suppressing Cd-induced activation of Akt, mTOR, and eukaryotic initiation factor 4E binding protein 1. The results showed that Lut prevented Cd-induced cell death partly by blocking the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway. Lut may be a potential agent for preventing Cd-induced nerve cell damage and neurodegenerative diseases.

To investigate the therapeutic benefits of theta burst stimulation on lower-limb motor dysfunction and balance recovery in patients with stroke. ⋯ Based the current study, iTBS can increase patients' balance function. The CRB-iTBS protocol is more effective than the LE M1-iTBS protocol. Additionally, iTBS may be a promising therapy tending to enhance lower-limb motor function, walking performance, mobility, and activities of daily living.

Leiomyoma of the prostate: A case report and literature review.
Prostate leiomyoma is a rare condition globally, often challenging to diagnose preoperatively, with most cases being definitively identified through postoperative pathology. This benign tumor generally has a good prognosis and is primarily treated with transurethral resection of the prostate in clinical settings. However, there are no established guidelines or therapeutic protocols for managing this disease. ⋯ Prostate leiomyoma is an extremely rare condition, and the current primary approach for managing prostate smooth muscle tumors involves active patient monitoring, regular evaluations, and timely surgical intervention if clinical symptoms emerge. In this study, we present a new case report of prostatic smooth muscle tumor and review the existing literature to explore treatment options for prostate leiomyoma within this field.

Primary pulmonary alveolar soft part sarcoma with ASPSCR1-TFE3 gene fusion: Case report and literature review.
Primary pulmonary alveolar soft part sarcoma (ASPS) is an extremely rare disease characterized by a specific genetic abnormality - the ASPSCR1-TFE3 gene fusion. ⋯ This case report highlights the importance of detailed diagnosis, prompt treatment, and close monitoring of patients with ASPS.

Catheter ablation in a monochorionic diamniotic twin pregnancy: A case report and literature review.
Preexcitation syndrome is an uncommon congenital cardiac disorder that impairs the normal cardiac conduction system. Radiofrequency ablation is one of the most effective treatments for this condition. Nevertheless, radiofrequency ablation is rare in women with preexcitation syndrome during pregnancy. ⋯ Preexcitation syndrome may result in life-threatening arrhythmias such as supraventricular tachycardia during pregnancy and delivery. It might be efficiently controlled through optimal treatment by a multidisciplinary team, which would effectively minimize arrhythmia risk events during pregnancy and improve maternal-fetal outcomes. Based on the patient's individual situation, radiofrequency ablation may be a procedure in pregnant women with preexcitation syndrome.
