Observational Study
Evaluation of the clinical efficacy of microwave ablation for benign thyroid nodules based on contrast-enhanced ultrasound.
This study evaluates the clinical efficacy of microwave ablation in patients with benign thyroid nodules based on contrast-enhanced ultrasound. A total of 92 patients with benign thyroid nodules admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were selected as research subjects and divided into control group and observation group according to different treatment methods, with 46 cases in each group. All patients received microwave ablation. ⋯ After treatment, the recurrence rate of nodule in observation group was 4.35%, which was significantly lower than that in control group, 15.22% (P < .05). After treatment, the complication rate of observation group was 8.70%, which was significantly lower than that of control group 26.09% (P < .05). Contrast-enhanced ultrasound can effectively monitor the treatment range of benign thyroid nodules by microwave ablation, improve clinical efficacy, reduce the recurrence rate of nodules, and has high effectiveness and safety.

Aromatherapy has been proposed as a complementary therapy to enhance sleep quality and regulate mood. However, few studies have specifically examined the efficacy of aromatherapy in managing sleep disorders in older adults. Therefore, the present study aims to systematically review the impact of aromatherapy on sleep quality among older adults. ⋯ This study indicates that aromatherapy improves sleep quality in older adults, with single-use lavender, non-inhalation aromatherapy, lasting less than 4 weeks being particularly effective. Aromatherapy also alleviates depression, but its effects on anxiety require further evaluation.

Meta Analysis
Efficacy and safety of QingReJieDu therapy in preventing acute radiation esophagitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Acute radiation esophagitis (ARE) is a frequently observed complication of radiotherapy for malignant tumors. QingReJieDu (QRJD) therapy is commonly used for the prevention and treatment of ARE. There is a lack of evidence regarding the effectiveness and safety of traditional Chinese medicine in preventing ARE. Therefore, the objective of this study was to comprehensively evaluate the efficacy and safety of QRJD therapy in preventing ARE. ⋯ Our results indicate that QRJD therapy has a significant preventive effect on ARE in clinical practice. However, it is important to note that these findings should be confirmed through more rigorously designed, multicenter, large-sample, and large-scale randomized controlled trials.

Meta Analysis
Meta-analysis of the effectiveness of combined enteral nutrition therapy for inflammatory bowel disease.
So far, there are still many difficulties in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), among which enteral nutrition (EN) is the most valuable and controversial treatment. Therefore, this study will compare the effectiveness of conventional medication with EN in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. ⋯ For IBD patients (including UC and CD), the combination of conventional drugs and EN was more effective than conventional drug treatment alone, hemoglobin, albumin and body mass index were significantly higher than conventional drug treatment alone, and the difference in adverse reactions was not significant. However, the current research evidence is not enough to fully prove the reliability of the combination therapy, and further studies need to be verified in the future.

As a common complication of Sjogren syndrome (SS), SS-related dry eye disease (SS-DED) significantly affects the patients' quality of life. Pro-inflammatory cytokines in tears are widely believed to play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of SS-DED. A systematic literature review with meta-analyses was conducted to provide a quantitative summary of tear cytokine levels in SS-DED compared with non-SS-DED and healthy controls. ⋯ The findings from this study provide evidence for levels of tear cytokines in SS-DED to become potential diagnostic biomarkers or therapeutic targets. Further studies with a higher number of subjects and improved quality are necessary.
