This case report presents a challenging medical scenario involving a young adult male who exhibited an unusual combination of symptoms, including abrupt weight loss, declining renal function, proteinuria, and concurrent onset of diabetes mellitus. Remarkably, the patient had no previous medical history or family history of similar conditions, necessitating a comprehensive investigation. ⋯ This case underscores the complexity of diagnosing and managing a young adult presenting with concurrent renal dysfunction, proteinuria, and diabetes mellitus in the absence of prior underlying conditions. It highlights the importance of comprehensive evaluation and ongoing care in such challenging cases.

This study assessed oral health conditions and associated factors (including sociodemographic characteristics and self-reported oral health-related behaviors) among Chinese adolescents. This cross-sectional study enrolled 3840 adolescents aged 12 to 15 years from 12 middle schools in Foshan, Southeast China, in 2016, using multistage, stratified cluster sampling. Participants underwent a clinical oral examination and completed a questionnaire. ⋯ Older age, female, administrative region, brushing less than twice daily, and flossing less than once daily significantly increased periodontal risk. Despite the overall low prevalence of adverse dental conditions among adolescents in Foshan, their oral hygiene habits were undeveloped. Thus, their identified risk factors need close monitoring, and families, schools, communities, and the government should jointly promote adolescents' oral health.

We aimed to determine the association between changes in bone mineral density (BMD) of the lumbar spine, bilateral femoral necks and clinical parameters in ambulatory older adult patients with stroke who were diagnosed with osteopenia. This retrospective study included ambulatory patients older than 65 years diagnosed with stroke between January 2019 and June 2021. Osteopenia was diagnosed within 1 month after stroke diagnosis. ⋯ Patients with modified Barthel index of less than 82 had significant bone loss only on the paretic side of the femoral neck. The BMD of the paretic side of the femoral neck was significantly decreased regardless of the strength of the hip and knee extensors. Although older adult patients with stroke and osteopenia can walk independently, more active osteoporosis treatment is needed to prevent bone loss and fractures, including improvement in daily living function and bilateral lower extremity strength training.

Those in administrative positions in adult education are more likely to suffer from stress because of the hard work they do, long hours in the office, a lack of adequate medical and welfare packages, and a lack of financial aid. In this study, adult education workers in Nigeria were assessed on the effectiveness of a cognitive and behavioral approach to managing occupational stress in public administration. ⋯ To improve stress management capacity among adults in public administration positions, researchers recommend frequent exposure to cognitive and behavioral approaches.

Ileal perforation involvement in Wegener granulomatosis comorbid with COVID-19 infection: A case report and review of the literature.
Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) is a systematic autoimmune disease. The typical clinical involvement of GPA entails the upper and lower respiratory tracts, and the kidneys. Gastrointestinal (GI) involvement is uncommon and unless detected and treated promptly, may lead to life-threatening complications such as perforation. We aim to review all available publications since the first description in 1982 dealing with GI perforation in patients with Wegener granulomatosis and draw attention to this serious situation. ⋯ GI perforation is rare in GPA but severe complication. Consequently, we recommend that early diagnosis and treatment with steroid hormones and immunosuppressants for GPA patients with GI perforation.
