Evidence regarding the use of Korean medicine (KM) for the conservative treatment of meniscus tears remains lacking. We aimed to evaluate clinical effectiveness and long-term follow-up outcomes in patients undergoing integrative KM treatment for meniscus tears. We analyzed the electronic medical records (EMRs) of 86 patients with meniscus tears and administered a follow-up survey. ⋯ The WOMAC decreased by an average of 15.52 (95% CI: 10.14-20.89) during hospital stay and 30.72 (95% CI: 24.58-36.87) at follow-up. The EQ-5D score increased by an average of 0.06 (95% CI: -0.14 to 0.02) at discharge and 0.19 (95% CI: -0.29 to -0.09) at follow up. KM treatment effectively reduced knee pain, improved knee joint function, and enhanced the quality of life in patients with a meniscus tear for a relatively long period after treatment.

Combining traditional Chinese medicine theory and modern medical knowledge, this study explores the pathogenesis of sudden hearing loss in middle-aged and young people. Sixty-four young and middle-aged patients with sudden hearing loss who visited a public tertiary hospital in China are chosen as experimental objects. All experimental patients are broken into an experimental group (n = 32) and a control group (n = 32). ⋯ The level of depression and anxiety in the experimental group remained relatively stable, while that in the control group showed a significant rebound (P < .05). In conclusion, both groups had a certain effect in treating sudden deafness, both of which could effectively improve the patient's hearing. But in contrast with the control group, the experimental group had better clinical efficacy, higher safety, and better psychological intervention results, which is worthy of clinical promotion.

Pulmonary artery stiffness (PAS) has been shown to be related to pulmonary artery pressure in patients with pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH). The aim of this study was to determine the correlation between functional capacity and echocardiographic indices of PAS in patients with PAH. This cross-sectional study was performed on patients with PAH who were confirmed by right heart catheterization and referred to Imam Reza PAH clinic for routine follow-up between November 2019 and January 2020. ⋯ There was no significant correlation between PAS and 6-minute walk test, pulmonary vascular resistance, and tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (P > .05). There was a significant correlation between V2 and pulmonary vascular resistance (r = 0.359, P = .049). PAS and first pulmonary valve pulse Doppler velocity are simple, noninvasive, available tools for the evaluation of pulmonary vascular beds and diagnosis of presymptomatic clinical status in patients with PAH.

Cellular blue nevus is an uncommon neoplasm in the spine. ⋯ Invasive cellular blue nevus of the spine can be wrongly diagnosed as spinal meningeal melanocytoma and meningeal melanoma due to its special cell behavior and rarity. Therefore, it is important to understand its pathological and clinical characteristics to avoid over-treatment.

Spectacle-wearing compliance and its associated determinants among infants with bilateral corrective refractive errors: An observational study.
This study aimed to evaluate spectacle-wearing compliance and identify the determinants associated with it in infants with bilateral corrective refractive errors. Infants aged < 3 years with bilateral corrective refractive errors who were supplied with spectacles for > 1 month were enrolled at the pediatric comprehensive clinic of Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center. Spectacle-wearing compliance was evaluated by calculating the percentage of spectacle-wearing time in the awake time (STIT), and its potential determinants were identified based on interviews with the infants' caregivers using univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis. ⋯ Besides, spectacle-wearing compliance was positively correlated with the weight of spectacles (P < .01), exhibiting a decreasing trend with the weight of spectacles. Overall, spectacle-wearing compliance requires improvement. Moreover, efficient strategies aimed at improving spectacle-wearing compliance, such as enhancing communication between caregivers of different infants regarding spectacle-wearing experience, raising awareness about the importance of wearing spectacles, and reducing the weight of spectacles, are urgently needed.
