To investigate the possible causal relationship between intestinal microflora and fractures using Mendelian randomization (MR). A 2-sample MR study of gut microbiota and fractures was conducted using a weighted inverse variance analysis with tests for heterogeneity, horizontal pleiotropy, and sensitivity. ⋯ This study revealed a causal relationship between gut microflora and fracture risk, demonstrating that the effect of different flora taxa flora abundance on fracture risk differs. It provides a reference for further studies.

Gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS) has emerged as a highly effective therapeutic modality for the management of intracranial meningiomas. However, the role of GKRS in treating growing meningiomas detected during active surveillance remains unclear. This study seeks to investigate the long-term outcomes of GKRS treatment for growing meningiomas. ⋯ In multivariate analysis, factor predicting new or worsening neurological function was preexisting calcification (HR, 5.297; 95% CI, 1.328-21.124; P = .018). GKRS demonstrates a promising level of tumor control with minimal risk of neurological deterioration when applied to growing meningiomas. These findings provide compelling support for considering GKRS as a valuable therapeutic option following an initial period of active surveillance for these tumors.

Unusual case of retroperitoneal hematoma and duodenal ulcerative bleeding after nephrectomy: Case report.
Retroperitoneal hematomas are relatively common in patients undergoing nephrectomy. Herein, we report an unusual case involving a giant retroperitoneal hematoma and subsequent duodenal ulcerative bleeding following a radical nephrectomy. ⋯ Duodenal ulceration and bleeding might occur following a retroperitoneal hematoma in patients treated with nephrectomy. Timely intervention may prevent duodenal ulcers and complications, and thus could be a promising life-saving intercession.

Colorectal cancer is a cancer that arises from the abnormal growth of cells in the colon or rectum. Osteosarcoma (OS) is a common primary bone tumor with high degree of malignancy. The configuration files for colorectal cancer dataset GSE142279 and OS datasets GSE197158 and GSE206448 were downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus database using the platforms GPL20795, GPL20301, and GPL24676. ⋯ Eight core genes (CUX1, NES, BCL11B, PAX6, EMX1, MCOLN2, TRPA1, TRPC4) were identified. CTD showed that 4 genes (CUX1, EMX1, TRPA1, BCL11B) were associated with colorectal neoplasms, colorectal tumors, colonic diseases, multiple myeloma, OS, and inflammation. PAX6, TRPA1, BCL11B, MCOLN2, CUX1, and EMX1 are highly expressed in colorectal cancer and OS, and the higher the expression level, the worse the prognosis.

The benefits of COVID-19 mRNA vaccination are claimed to be substantial; however, vaccination-related myocarditis and pericarditis have also been observed globally, particularly among young men. In most cases, the symptoms are mild and resolve on their own; however, fatal cases have rarely been described. ⋯ Although the benefits of COVID-19 vaccination appear to outweigh the side effects, it should be noted that fatal arrhythmias may rarely occur, and caution should be taken if individuals, particularly young men, complain of any symptoms after vaccination.
