Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease associated with a flare-up of a leukocytoclastic vasculitis: A rare case report and review of literature.
Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD) also known as histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenopathy is an exceedingly rare cause of cervical lymphadenopathy, commonly accompanied by systemic symptoms such as fever, fatigue, night sweats, myalgia, skin rash. ⋯ KFD should be ruled out in patients with autoimmune or inflammatory diseases who develop lymphadenopathies.

Sleep quality is among the common complication in patients on dialysis and serious affect their health and quality of life; however, other associated risk factors are unclear. This study aimed to investigate the risk factors affecting sleep quality in patients on dialysis. Data were collected from 260 patients who met the inclusion criteria at out hospital from May 2023 to October 2023. ⋯ Multiple linear regression statistics showed that female, pruritus, RLS, high SBP, depression, and high ferritin levels were associated with poor sleep quality. This study showed that female, chronic nephritis syndrome, high SBP, pruritus, RLS, low mood. and high ferritin levels were associated with poor sleep quality. Future development of individual nursing and targeted therapies is key to improving sleep quality in patients on dialysis.

Case Reports
A 42-year-old patient with renal cell carcinoma presenting as low back pain: A case report.
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common renal neoplasm, accounting for 2.4% of all cancers in Korea. Although the usual clinical manifestations of RCC include flank pain, hematuria, and palpable mass, RCC is generally characterized by a lack of early warning signs and is mostly discovered incidentally in advanced stage. This case report describes a 42-year-old Korean man diagnosed with giant RCC who presented with simple back pain. ⋯ RCC can manifest clinically as back pain, with diagnosis being difficult without appropriate imaging modalities. RCC should be included in the differential diagnosis of patients with low back pain, even at a young age.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) could have a variable degree of adverse effects on pregnancy outcomes for both pregnant women and newborns. The purpose of the study was to explore the effect of GDM on pregnancy outcomes in advanced primiparous women. A total of 1076 advanced primiparous women were included between January 2020 and December 2022. ⋯ Among the GDM group, the women with poor glycaemic control showed a significantly higher incidence rate of polyhydramnios, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, cesarean delivery, premature birth, low-birth weight, macrosomia, and neonatal intensive care unit admission was significant than the women with good glycaemic control (all P < .05). GDM was an independent risk factor for polyhydramnios in advanced primiparous women. At the same time, good glycaemic control in diabetics advanced primiparous women could reduce adverse pregnancy outcomes.

PKD1, which has a relatively high mutation rate, is highly polymorphic, and the role of PKD1 is incompletely defined. In the current study, in order to determine the molecular etiology of a family with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, the pathogenicity of an frameshift mutation in the PKD1 gene, c.9484delC, was evaluated. ⋯ A novel mutation in the PKD1 gene has been identified in an affected Chinese family. The mutation is probably responsible for a range of clinical manifestations for which reliable prenatal diagnosis and genetic counseling may be provided.
