Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) poses a significant clinical challenge due to its rapid progression and limited treatment options, often leading to deadly outcomes. Looking for effective therapeutic interventions is critical to improve patient outcomes in ALS. ⋯ The study raises the significance of personalized therapeutic strategies in ALS by AI-PRS. It also emphasizes the adaptability of interventions based on patient-specific responses. The encountered hypotension incident highlights the importance of attentive monitoring and personalized adjustments in treatment plans. The described therapy using AI-PRS, offering personalized drug-dose combinations technology is a potential approach in treating ALS. The promising outcomes warrant further evaluation in clinical trials for searching a personalized, more effective combinational treatment for ALS patients.

This study aimed to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of high-risk populations toward lung cancer screening in Lanzhou, China. Using convenience sampling, this cross-sectional study enrolled outpatients at high-risk for lung cancer at Lanzhou University Second Hospital between November 2022 and March 2023. An anonymous, self-administered online questionnaire was distributed to each participant via the Sojump website (https://www.wjx.cn/), comprising 40 items to collect demographic information and evaluate KAP toward lung cancer screening. ⋯ On the other hand, 339 (58.8%) participants expressed concerns about exposure to radiation from CT scans, while 349 (60.5%) participants were worried about the cost of lung cancer screening. Only 142 (24.6%) participants reported having undergone annual lung cancer screening. The high-risk population had limited knowledge and insufficient attitude and practice toward lung cancer screening in Lanzhou, China.

Patient delay increases the morbidity and mortality due to tuberculosis (TB). This study aimed to assess patient delay among patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in Yantai from 2013 to 2022, and to analyze factors related to patient delay. Data of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in Yantai City from 2013 to 2022 were obtained from the Tuberculosis Management Information System of the Chinese Disease Prevention and Control System. ⋯ Univariate analyses revealed statistically significant differences in patient delay in terms of age, occupation, patient source, domicile, pathogenetic results, and the presence of comorbidities (all P < .05). The results of logistic regression analysis showed that the age was 20 to 39, 40 to 59, and ≥ 60 years (OR = 1.365, 95%CI: 1.156-1.612; OR = 1.978, 95%CI: 1.660-2.356; OR = 1.767, 95%CI: 1.480-2.110), occupation was domestic and un-employed (OR = 1.188, 95%CI: 1.071-1.317), domicile as mobile population (OR = 1.212, 95%CI: 1.099-1.337), and positive pathogenic results (OR = 1.242, 95%CI: 1.015-1.520) were risk factors for patient delay. Patient delays were serious among pulmonary tuberculosis patients in Yantai City, 2013 to 2022, and patient delay was related to factors such as age, occupation, domicile, patient source, and pathogenetic results.

The objective of this study is to determine the healthy behaviors of mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) in Ardabil in 2020. An analytic cross-sectional study was conducted on 360 mothers with GDM in Ardabil in 2020. Self-reported data was collected using a sociodemographic and a lifestyle questionnaire (LSQ) with assistance from health staff. ⋯ A gravida of the participants was associated with weight control and nutrition (beta = -.497, P = .016). Body mass index was associated with physical health (beta = -.179, P = .001), exercise and fitness (beta = -.149, P = .016), psychological health (beta = -.158, P = .001), accident prevention (beta = .098, P = .023), and total score of LSQ (beta = -.559, P = .006). The findings of this study showed that mothers with GDM had LSQ subscales scores considered fair or average, except for the prevention of diseases and avoidance of drugs, alcohol, and opiates subscales, which were considered good.

Adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEG) has a high incidence, and the extent of lymph node dissection (LND) and its impact on prognosis remain controversial. This study aimed to explore the risk factors for lymph node metastasis (LNM) and prognosis in Siewert II/III AEG patients. A retrospective review of 239 Siewert II/III AEG patients surgically treated at Beijing Friendship Hospital from July 2013 to December 2022 was conducted. ⋯ In contrast, Siewert III AEG patients do not require mediastinal LND, but pyloric lymphadenectomy for nodes No. 5 and No. 6 is essential. The presence of LNM is associated with poorer long-term prognosis. Perioperative chemotherapy may offer a survival advantage for AEG patients.
