Since its first identification in the early 1990s, Mycobacterium genavense has been considered and opportunistic pathogen. It mainly causes gastrointestinal symptoms, but also disseminated infections in severely immunosuppressed patients. Sclerosing mesenteritis is a long-term complication with high morbidity and mortality. As it is a rare condition, there are no specific guidelines for its management. We report a challenging case of persistent M. genavense infection, and propose surgery as an alternative treatment strategy. ⋯ Despite a prolonged multidrug strategy, some patients develop persistent M. genavense infection. Once sclerosing mesenteritis is established, clinicians have few treatment options. Surgery should be considered in patients with sclerosing mesenteritis or bowel obstruction. The combination of medical and surgical treatment could be a potential cure for these patients.

Case Reports
Endovascular recanalization of extensively-thrombosed cerebral venous sinuses in early pregnancy: A case report.
The incidence of pregnancy-related cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) is rare, and cerebral hemorrhage caused by CVST in the early pregnancy period is even rarer. Only 3 cases of cerebral hemorrhage caused by CVST had been reported in the early pregnancy period in the literature. In this study, we reported successful endovascular treatment of such a case. ⋯ Pregnancy-related CVST can be successfully treated with a combined endovascular approach of aspiration, thrombolysis, and anticoagulation to complete recovery.

Stent retriever thrombectomy in the treatment of basal artery stent thrombosis: Two case reports.
Stent thrombosis is a rare but serious complication that requires timely treatment. Catheter thrombectomy is the first-line therapy for this condition; however, it may be challenging for patients with in-stent emboli located in the basilar artery. ⋯ Cerebral vascular stent thrombectomy is a feasible approach for treating cerebral vascular stent thrombosis.

Colon cancer has a distinct migration aptitude. However, pancreatic metastasis is rare and treatment of inoperable pancreatic cancers is seldom seen. ⋯ Iodine-125 seed implantation is an effective and safe strategy for unresectable metastatic pancreatic cancer. Iodine-125 seed implantation combined with chemotherapy improve survival for advanced pancreatic metastasis of colon cancer.

To assess the early predictive value of maternal parameters for early-onset sepsis (EOS) in preterm infants, especially including the maternal neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and mean platelet volume (MPV). The retrospective cohort study examined a total of 231 preterm infants (69 with EOS) from May 2017 to October 2021 of the Fourth Hospital of Hebei Medical University, randomly divided (7:3) into the training set group (n = 162) and validation set group (n = 69). Thirteen clinical variables (including MPV, NLR, and PLR) were included as the research objects. ⋯ The C-index for the training set and validation set groups were 0.872 and 0.889, respectively. The maternal NLR, PLR, and MPV levels had good predictive value for EOS in premature infants. The nomogram in our study could help clinicians predict the occurrence of EOS.
