Sertraline in children and adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder: a multicenter randomized controlled trial.
The serotonin reuptake inhibitors are the treatment of choice for patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder; however, empirical support for this assertion has been weaker for children and adolescents than for adults. ⋯ Sertraline appears to be a safe and effective short-term treatment for children and adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Maintenance phase efficacy of sertraline for chronic depression: a randomized controlled trial.
The chronic form of major depression is associated with a high rate of prevalence and disability, but no controlled research has examined the impact of long-term treatment on the course and burden of illness. ⋯ Maintenance therapy with sertraline is well tolerated and has significant efficacy in preventing recurrence or reemergence of depression in chronically depressed patients.

Peripheral neuropathy is common in persons infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) but few data on symptomatic treatment are available. ⋯ In this study, neither acupuncture nor amitriptyline was more effective than placebo in relieving pain caused by HIV-related peripheral neuropathy.
