Multicenter Study Observational StudyThe longitudinal impact of COVID-19 pandemic on neurosurgical practice.
This observational cross-sectional multicenter study aimed to evaluate the longitudinal impact of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on neurosurgical practice. ⋯ Our study demonstrated that the COVID-19 pandemic decreased the number of procedures performed in neurosurgery practice. The load of emergency neurosurgery procedures did not change throughout the three periods, which reflects the need to designate ample resources to cover emergencies. Notably, with strict screening for COVID -19 infections, neurosurgical procedures could be safely performed during the early pandemic phase. We recommend to restart performing neurosurgical procedures once the pandemic gets stabilized to avoid possible post pandemic health-care system intolerable overload.

Multicenter StudyThe safety and efficacy of the LVIS stent for the treatment of ruptured intracranial aneurysms within 24 hours: A multicenter retrospective study.
Stent-assisted coiling is increasingly used in the treatment of acutely ruptured intracranial aneurysms. However, the optimal timing of the stent-assisted coiling remains unknown. We aimed to investigate the safety and efficacy of the Low Profile Visualized Intraluminal Support (LVIS) stent for ruptured aneurysms treatment within 24 h comparing to the treatment between 25 and 72 h of symptom onset. ⋯ The LVIS stent-assisted coiling may be safe and effective in the treatment of selected patients with ruptured aneurysms within 24 h of symptom onset.

Multicenter StudyInfluence of age on pain intensity, functional impairment and health-related quality of life before and after surgery for lumbar degenerative disc disease.
Demographic changes will lead to an increase of elderly people in our population and consecutively to a higher prevalence of patients suffering from degenerative disc disease (DDD). The goal of this study was to investigate age-related differences in pain intensity, subjective and objective functional impairment and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients with lumbar DDD. ⋯ The influence of age on subjective and objective measures of pain, functional impairment and HRQoL is limited for patients with LDH and LSS, but suggests an age-dependent increase of functional disability. Younger patients generally showed greater postoperative improvement at six weeks than older patients.

Multicenter StudyIntracranial angiomatous meningiomas: A 15-year, multicenter study.
Angiomatous meningiomas (AMs) represent a rare subtype of meningiomas in which the vascular component prevail. They represent less than 1% of all intracranial tumors and approximately 2.1% of all meningeal tumors (Hasselblatt et al., 2004). The purpose of this study was to determine the clinical characteristics, radiological features and prognosis of AMs based on a Tunisian multicenter experience in the management of 58 successive cases of intracranial AMs. To the best of our knowledge, this is the largest series reported to date. ⋯ AMs represent a rare subtype of meningioma characterized by variable cystic components, large peritumoral edema and multiple areas of vascular signal voids. The mainstay of the treatment is gross total resection, ideally following a preoperative embolization. The fate of the tumor remnant after incomplete tumor resection still needs to be evaluated and we do not recommend the systematic use of post-operative adjuvant RT in all cases. As local recurrence can develop many years after initial treatment, Long-term follow-up is mandatory.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyPredictors of good functional outcomes and mortality in patients with severe rebleeding after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage.
Aneurysmal rebleeding is a major cause of morbidity and mortality after aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH); however, limited data on severity of rebleeding and outcomes after severe rebleeding are available. We aimed to determine predictors of good outcome and mortality after severe rebleeding. ⋯ A better clinical condition after rebleeding were independently associated with good outcome and inversely associated with morality after severe rebleeding. Despite high mortality of rebleeding, patients with WFNS grade IV treated with aggressive treatment were more likely to have good outcomes regardless of their condition before rebleeding.
