Institutional review board-approved, prospective, multicenter, comparative study. ⋯ Use of Guidance reduces fluoroscopy and insertion times with increased accuracy compared with conventional fluoroscopic methods of percutaneous pedicle screw insertion.

Growing rods for the treatment of scoliosis in children with cerebral palsy: a critical assessment.
Retrospective analysis. ⋯ GRs via a posterior-only approach are effective. Constructs extending to the pelvis control PO more effectively. However, 30% of patients experienced deep wound infection.

A methodological systematic review. ⋯ There is an abundance of conflicting data on risk factors for SSI after spinal surgery. Given various sources of heterogeneity observed in observational literature, there is a paucity of solid evidence for the proof of robust risk factors. The authors recommend the introduction, validation, and use of a standardized set of strongly justified eligibility criteria and well-defined candidate risk factors and spinal SSI outcomes.

Retrospective clinical data analysis. ⋯ The demographics, clinical presentation, and radiographical findings of OPLL of the cervical spine in Korean patients were analyzed, which could serve as a basis for further study on and treatment of OPLL. The classification method using plain radiographs has some limitation for disease treatment or prognosis. For the exact diagnosis and classification of the OPLL, computerized tomographic scan is more useful.

A case report. ⋯ Here, we reported the first case of acute lumbar spinal pseudogout attack after lumbar instrumented surgery. We recommend considering pseudogout before and after surgery.
