A retrospective study. ⋯ Among commercially insured patients who received outpatient spine surgery, the incidence of ED visits during the 90-day postoperative period was ~9%. Our results indicate opportunities for improved postoperative care planning after outpatient spinal surgery.

Morphologic Change of Cortico-Cancellous Allograft used for Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion.
Retrospective cohort study. ⋯ Corticocancellous allograft demonstrated a high rate of graft morphologic change (54.3%). Graft resorption or fracture was associated with increased pseudarthrosis, subsidence, and decreased postoperative segmental lordosis; however, the clinical results were not significantly affected. Caution is needed when choosing to use corticocancellous allografts for ACDF due to the high rate of graft resorption or fracture and the negative implications of these risks.
