Association Between Family History of Surgically Treated Low Back Pain and Adolescent Low Back Pain.
Cross-sectional. ⋯ Our findings suggest that adolescents who report a family history of LBP have higher odds of frequent LBP irrespectively of a family history of back surgery.Level of evidence: 4.

Cross-sectional study. ⋯ This algorithm demonstrates strong performance in the classification of ACDF plates from smartphone images and will be deployed as an accessible smartphone application for further evaluation, improvement, and eventual widespread use.Level of Evidence: 3.
-
Retrospective cohort study. ⋯ Increased age, current smoking status, hospital length of stay, and a history of renal failure were found to be significant independent predictors of inpatient readmission or complication after lumbar decompression.

Numerical in-silico human spine stability finite element analysis. ⋯ This investigation demonstrated torso tissues exhibiting different roles toward static spine stability. The TLF appeared able to dissipate and absorb excessive loads, the muscles acted as antagonistic to external perturbations, and the IAP played a role limiting movement. Furthermore, the different combinations explored suggested an optimized engagement and coordination between different tissues to achieve a specific task, while minimizing individual work.Level of Evidence: N/A.
