Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
An evaluation of a postoperative rehabilitation program after spinal surgery and its impact on outcome.
This study invited patients to evaluate the content and style of a rehabilitation program used as an intervention in a multicenter, factorial, randomized controlled trial of the postoperative management of spinal surgery patients. ⋯ Compliance with a postoperative rehabilitation program was disappointing, but the program was assessed positively and of benefit by those who attended. Issues were raised in relation to timing and location of classes.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
Epidural administration of spinal nerves with the tumor necrosis factor-alpha inhibitor, etanercept, compared with dexamethasone for treatment of sciatica in patients with lumbar spinal stenosis: a prospective randomized study.
Prospective randomized trial. ⋯ Our results indicate that epidural administration of a TNF-α inhibitor onto the spinal nerve produced pain relief, but no adverse event. TNF-α inhibitors may be useful tools for the treatment of radicular pain caused by spinal stenosis.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study
Randomized, controlled, multicenter, clinical trial comparing BRYAN cervical disc arthroplasty with anterior cervical decompression and fusion in China.
Prospective, randomized, controlled, multicenter clinical trial. ⋯ At 24 months after surgery, the cervical disc prosthesis yielded good clinical results while maintaining ROM at the index level. Cervical disc arthroplasty appears to be a viable alternative to ACDF.

Randomized Controlled Trial
Factors affecting the incidence of symptomatic adjacent-level disease in cervical spine after total disc arthroplasty: 2- to 4-year follow-up of 3 prospective randomized trials.
Prospective randomized clinical trials. ⋯ The risk of developing adjacent segment degeneration was equivalent at median 38 months after both ACDF and TDA procedures in cervical DDD. Osteopenia and concurrent lumbar DDD significantly increase the risk of ALD.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study
The access randomized clinical trial of public versus private physiotherapy for low back pain.
Pragmatic randomized clinical trial. ⋯ Despite differences between public and private PT regarding waiting times for treatment and therapist experience, there were no significant differences between groups in the majority of clinical outcome measure scores at follow-up, apart from SF-36 Role Physical and satisfaction with treatment outcome in favor of the private PT group.
