Although radiofrequency ablation is well validated for treatment of osteoid osteoma, newer technologies, namely cryoablation, have been less thoroughly studied. The purpose is to perform a systematic review and pooled analysis of percutaneous ablation technologies for treatment of osteoid osteoma with subset analysis of intra-articular and spinal tumors. ⋯ Percutaneous ablation of osteoid osteomas was highly successful with low complication rates. Efficacy of radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation is similar, which is consequential because cryoablation is associated with decreased pain, predictable nerve regeneration, and theoretical immunotherapy benefits. Treatment of more challenging intra-articular and spinal lesions demonstrated similarly high success and low complication rates.

Deep learning with convolutional neural networks (CNN) is a rapidly advancing subset of artificial intelligence that is ideally suited to solving image-based problems. There are an increasing number of musculoskeletal applications of deep learning, which can be conceptually divided into the categories of lesion detection, classification, segmentation, and non-interpretive tasks. ⋯ It is important for the practicing musculoskeletal radiologist to understand the current scope of deep learning as it relates to musculoskeletal radiology. Interest in deep learning from researchers, radiology leadership, and industry continues to increase, and it is likely that these developments will impact the daily practice of musculoskeletal radiology in the near future.

Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparison of PSMA-PET/CT, choline-PET/CT, NaF-PET/CT, MRI, and bone scintigraphy in the diagnosis of bone metastases in patients with prostate cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
A systematic review and meta-analysis to compare the diagnostic performance of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-PET/CT, choline-PET/CT, Sodium Fluoride (NaF) PET/CT, MRI, and bone scintigraphy (BS) in detecting bone metastases in patients with prostate cancer. ⋯ According to the meta-analysis, PSMA-PET/CT had the highest per-patient sensitivity and specificity in detecting bone metastases with prostate cancer. The sensitivities of NaF-PET/CT and MRI were better than those for choline-PET/CT and BS. The specificity of PSMA-PET/CT was significantly better than BS. Others were similar. For per-lesion, NaF-PET/CT had the highest sensitivity, PSMA-PET/CT had higher sensitivity than choline-PET/CT and MRI, and BS had the lowest sensitivity.

Ulnar nerve compression at the elbow, specifically the cubital tunnel, is the second most common upper extremity compression neuropathy. Many patients presenting with compression symptoms will subsequently undergo surgical intervention. ⋯ We discuss the relevant anatomy of the presurgical cubital tunnel and common sites and causes of ulnar nerve compression at and about the cubital tunnel. The imaging appearance of the preoperative and postoperative ulnar nerve and postoperative complications are reviewed.

To give a systematic overview of current diagnostic imaging options for assessment of the distal tibio-fibular syndesmosis. ⋯ Conventional radiographs cannot predict syndesmotic injuries reliably. CT scans outperform plain radiographs in detecting syndesmotic mal-reduction. Additionally, the syndesmotic interval can be assessed in greater detail by CT. MRI measurements achieve a sensitivity and specificity of nearly 100%; however, correlating MRI findings with patients' complaints is difficult, and utility with subtle syndesmotic instability needs further investigation. Overall, the methodological quality of these studies was satisfactory.
