Renal blood flow and function during recovery from experimental septic acute kidney injury.
To measure renal blood flow (RBF) and renal function during recovery from experimental septic acute kidney injury (AKI). ⋯ Infusion of E. coli induced a hyperdynamic circulatory state with hyperemic AKI. Recovery was associated with relative renal vasoconstriction and reduction in RBF and RVC back to control levels. Indices of tubular function normalized more rapidly than changes in RBF.

Postresuscitation accelerated idioventricular rhythm: a potential prognostic factor for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survivors.
Data are lacking on the relationship between postresuscitation ECG and outcome in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). We examined the prognostic information that postresuscitation ECG rhythm can provide for predicting outcome in OHCA survivors. ⋯ AIVR on postresuscitation ECG offers a prognostic factor related to a higher repeated CPR rate within 1h after return of spontaneous circulation and a lower 7-day survival rates in successfully resuscitated OHCA victims.

Comparison of lung injury after normal or small volume optimized resuscitation in a model of hemorrhagic shock.
To compare lung injury induced by a hemorrhagic shock resuscitated with normal saline or with small volumes of a hypertonic/hyperoncotic solution. ⋯ When included in an optimized and goal directed resuscitation, the use of normal saline or a small volume of hypertonic/hyperoncotic solution does not result in a different early hemorrhage-induced lung injury.
