Multicenter StudyElectroencephalographic Abnormalities are Common in COVID-19 and are Associated with Outcomes.
The aim was to determine the prevalence and risk factors for electrographic seizures and other electroencephalographic (EEG) patterns in patients with Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) undergoing clinically indicated continuous electroencephalogram (cEEG) monitoring and to assess whether EEG findings are associated with outcomes. ⋯ This multicenter retrospective cohort study demonstrates that seizures and other epileptiform abnormalities are common in patients with COVID-19 undergoing clinically indicated cEEG and are associated with adverse clinical outcomes. Multicenter StudyEarly electroencephalography for outcome prediction of postanoxic coma: A prospective cohort study.
To provide evidence that early electroencephalography (EEG) allows for reliable prediction of poor or good outcome after cardiac arrest. ⋯ EEG allows for reliable prediction of poor outcome after cardiac arrest, with maximum sensitivity in the first 24 hours. Continuous EEG patterns at 12 hours after cardiac arrest are associated with good recovery. ANN NEUROL 2019;86:203-214.

Multicenter StudyElectroencephalographic reactivity as predictor of neurological outcome in postanoxic coma: A multicenter prospective cohort study.
Outcome prediction in patients after cardiac arrest (CA) is challenging. Electroencephalographic reactivity (EEG-R) might be a reliable predictor. We aimed to determine the prognostic value of EEG-R using a standardized assessment. ⋯ EEG-R testing in itself is not sufficiently reliable for outcome prediction in patients after CA. For poor outcome prediction, it has no substantial added value to EEG background, neurological examination, and SSEPs. For prediction of good outcome, EEG-R seems to have added value. Multicenter StudyDeep gray matter volume loss drives disability worsening in multiple sclerosis.
Gray matter (GM) atrophy occurs in all multiple sclerosis (MS) phenotypes. We investigated whether there is a spatiotemporal pattern of GM atrophy that is associated with faster disability accumulation in MS. ⋯ This large, multicenter and longitudinal study shows that DGM volume loss drives disability accumulation in MS, and that temporal cortical GM shows accelerated atrophy in SPMS than RRMS. The difference in regional GM atrophy development between phenotypes needs to be taken into account when evaluating treatment effect of therapeutic interventions. Ann Neurol 2018;83:210-222.

Multicenter StudyA clinical predictive score for postoperative myasthenic crisis.
Myasthenia gravis (MG) is an autoimmune disease mostly caused by autoantibodies against acetylcholine receptor associated with thymus abnormalities. Thymectomy has been proven to be an efficacious treatment for patients with MG, but postoperative myasthenic crisis often occurs and is a major complication. We aimed to develop and validate a simple scoring system based on clinical characteristics in the preoperative status to predict the risk of postoperative myasthenic crisis. ⋯ A simple scoring system based on 3 preoperative clinical characteristics can predict the possibility of postoperative myasthenic crisis.
