Understanding the acute effects of inspiratory muscle training (IMT) at different intensities on the autonomic nervous system, arterial stiffness, and blood pressure in healthy young people will be important in the constitution of appropriate IMT prescriptions. ⋯ A single session of DBE positively affects autonomic function and blood pressure, while IMT at 60% of MIP increases arterial stiffness. The different intensities of IMT have various impacts on autonomic function, arterial stiffness, and blood pressure.

This review aims to identify and summarise the findings of published qualitative studies relating to patients' experiences of dental implant surgery, by means of textual narrative synthesis. A comprehensive two-stage electronic and manual search of the literature identified relevant qualitative studies up to January 2020. Included primary studies (n = 15) used qualitative research methods including interviews and focus groups to investigate patients' experiences of dental implant treatment. ⋯ The included studies give considerable insight into patients' experiences of the dental implant journey, which in the main, had overall positive consensus. The limited information available regarding patients' experience of the intra operative dental implant surgery with or without conscious sedation warrants further investigation. This information is a fundamental step to understanding the patients' preferences, needs and values and ultimately enhancing the quality of patient care.

The 5G technology, with its low latency, high speed, enhanced high-resolution bandwidth, superior reliability, and less energy consumption, is bound to transform telemedicine and the healthcare industry as a whole. This next-generation wireless networking technology has many far-reaching implications in both preventive and therapeutic care of the patients. Remote monitoring of patients is possible with wearables facilitated by robust sensors coupled to 5G network. Virtual patient consultation; augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR)-based simulated surgeries; artificial intelligence (AI)-powered robotic surgeries; real-time maintenance of ambulances and other medical devices; and dynamic huge data repository are some of the other applications of 5G technology in the health sector.

Physical activity (PA) is a modifiable health behaviour in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). Knowing the possible predictors of PA will contribute to producing physical and psychological benefits for CRC patients. ⋯ This study suggests that quality of life, knee extensor muscle strength, and fatigue have the greatest influence on PA in patients with CRC.

Cancer gene panel testing is available in Ireland. The need for a clear strategy to deal with patient information generated from tumour genomic testing is recognised as a challenge in the National Cancer Strategy. However, the public's attitude and opinions regarding these results is not known in Ireland. ⋯ This is the first prospective Irish study to assess opinions surrounding cancer gene results. Addressing patient's lack of information as regards genetic testing is the first step in establishing a national cancer genetics testing programme in Ireland.
