Effect of aerobic exercise alone or combined with Mediterranean diet on dry eye in obese hypertensive elderly.
Lifestyle modification is a newly recommended complementary treatment for dry eye (DE) disorder. ⋯ Aging-related DE symptoms and signs can be prevented and/or treated with HIIAE alone or combined with MD in obese hypertensive elderly with DE disorder.

Investigating patients with unprovoked venous thromboembolism (uVTE) for occult malignancy can prove a diagnostic dilemma and imaging is often used extensively in this patient group. ⋯ CT imaging had a low yield for diagnosing malignancy. Extensive imaging strategies increase cost and radiation exposure without improving mortality. Clinical follow-up, history taking, and physical examination guiding appropriate investigations remain the best tool for unmasking occult malignancy in patients with uVTE.

Effects of perceptive rehabilitation and mobilization methods on symptoms and disability in patients with fibromyalgia: A preliminary randomized control trial.
Currently, there is no definitive cure for fibromyalgia. Instead, treatments focus of reducing symptoms and disability. ⋯ This study shows that perceptive rehabilitation and mobilization therapy are similarly effective in improving fibromyalgia symptoms and disability, but the effects disappear within 3 months. Further research is needed to understand how the improvements could be maintained longer.

Diabetic neuropathy diagnosis involves invasive procedures like nerve biopsy and nerve conduction studies which are seldom available at rural health centers. The Ipswich Touch Test (IpTT) is one test that can be performed by the caregiver and it's simple to perform. ⋯ 10gm-SMWFis a better test to diagnose neuropathy than the IpTT; but in the absence of 10gm-SMWFs, the IpTT is an ideal alternative. IpTT can be performed in a bedside or chairside setting in the absence of a professional health care provider who can screen patients for neuropathy and alert the physician of an impending complication where amputation can be avoided.

Parenteral nutrition may lead to inevitable complications. ⋯ Close monitoring of electrolyte levels, especially in the first 3 days, is crucial to prevent complications of parenteral nutrition. When individualized PN preparations are used for metabolically unstable patients, it can be easier to maintain the blood glucose, lipids, and electrolyte levels within the normal range.
