Rituximab (RTX) is an important immunosuppressive agent used for many rheumatologic diseases. This study investigated the factors affecting mortality and mortality due to COVID-19 infection in patients receiving RTX. ⋯ As a result of the study, it was found that RTX treatment in particular increased the risk of death from COVID-19 infection. However, vaccination against COVID-19 has a very important place in this patient group. It is important that vaccination is administered at the full dose and adjusted according to the RTX treatment time, and that the dose and timing of RTX treatment are regulated.

The annual conference of the Irish College of Ophthalmologists (ICO) is a key calendar event for ophthalmology research in Ireland. ⋯ This is the first review of all research contributions to the ICO conference. We found that there is a need to promote research in some underrepresented subspecialities and training centres. No significant gender bias was found. There is scope to improve the publication conversion rate; this would allow for greater dissemination of the research presented at the ICO meeting.

Impact factor JUMPS after the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic: a retrospective study in Dermatology journals.
The term "JUMPS" was used to describe the impact factor (IF) in an article published in PubMed in 2021, representing an increase of more than 40% of IF. ⋯ Although we found journals with growth rates in the four quartiles, no journals depicted negative growth rates nor > 100% growth. Knowing the growing trends in this category might supplement the assessment of target journals for authors looking to submit their works.
