Renal cell carcinoma or RCC is a type of malignancy commonly occurred in the human kidney especially in the adults. The pathogenesis of RCC involves the complex networking of multiple signaling pathways, and the underlying molecular mechanisms remain largely unclear. ⋯ In summary, UBA2 was able to enhance the proliferation, inhibit the apoptosis, and suppress cell cycle arrest in RCC cells by targeting the p53 pathway.

Given the many misconceptions in terms of both diagnosis and treatment, SARS-CoV-2 continues to infect and victimize. Notwithstanding molecular testing is the gold standard method of in vitro diagnostic, the often long-waiting time, as well as false-negative results are daunting challenges facing us. In this study, we aimed to report the diagnostic value of laboratory findings in COVID-19 patients, with an extensive focus on the differences between PCR-positive and PCR-negative cases. ⋯ As far we are aware, this is the first time that we reported a comprehensive exploration of laboratory characteristics of a large cohort of hospitalized COVID-19 patients from Iran, hoping that these data will cast more light on the diagnostic significance of these parameters.

Nonfunctioning adrenal incidentalomas (NFAIs) are associated with increased cardiovascular risk, but the frequency of masked hypertension (MH) is uncertain in these patients. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of MH by ambulatory blood pressure monitoring in patients with NFAIs. ⋯ The prevalence of MH in the NFAI patient's was higher than in the control group. Patients with NFAI with high normal blood pressure should be evaluated for MH.

Olfactory dysfunction (OD) is a significant symptom of COVID-19 and may be the earliest symptom, or it may sometimes be the only manifestation of the disease. ⋯ The patients presenting to the hospital with self-reported OD may have less lung involvement and a milder disease course compared to patients without OD on admission.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common histological type of glioma, which has the most aggressive biological characters and the worst outcome. The targeted therapy of GBM requires more progression, and new biomarkers should be identified. ⋯ ANXA1, ANXA2, and ANXA10 are the upregulated genes in GBM. ANXA2 and ANXA10, but not ANXA1, are independent prognostic biomarkers indicating unfavorable outcome. Our results suggest that expression profiles based on ANXA10 expression may be a new classification system to predict prognosis of GBM patients.
