Meta Analysis
Interleukin-18 promoter -607 C/A and -137 G/C polymorphisms and susceptibility to type 1 diabetes: A meta-analysis.
The aim of this study was to determine whether the functional interleukin-18 (IL-18) promoter -607 C/A (rs1946518) and -137 G/C (rs187238) polymorphisms are associated with susceptibility to type 1 diabetes (TID). ⋯ Our meta-analysis demonstrates that the IL-18 -607 C/A polymorphism may be associated with susceptibility to T1D in Asians, but not in Europeans.

Meta Analysis
Association between DRD2/ANKK1 TaqIA polymorphism and common illicit drug dependence: evidence from a meta-analysis.
Growing evidence indicated conflicting results about the dopamine receptor D2 (DRD2)/kinase domain containing 1 gene (ANKK1) TaqIA single nucleotide polymorphism (rs1800497) and common illicit drug dependence risk including stimulants, opioid and marijuana. We conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the association between the polymorphism and common illicit drug dependence risk. ⋯ The current meta-analysis suggested that DRD2/ANKK1 TaqIA polymorphism might be associated with opioid dependence risk, but not associated with stimulants or marijuana dependence.

Meta Analysis
Association between interleukin 1 receptor antagonist gene 86-bp VNTR polymorphism and sepsis: a meta-analysis.
Many studies have focused on the relationship between interleukin 1 receptor antagonist (IL1RN) gene 86-bp VNTR polymorphism and sepsis, but the results remain inconsistent. Thus, a meta-analysis was carried out to derive a more precise estimation of the association between IL1RN 86-bp VNTR polymorphism and risk of sepsis and sepsis-related mortality. ⋯ According to the results of our meta-analysis, the IL1RN 86-bp VNTR polymorphism probably associates with sepsis risk but not with sepsis-related mortality.

Meta Analysis
Associations between interleukin 1 polymorphisms and susceptibility to systemic lupus erythematosus: a meta-analysis.
This study determined whether interleukin 1 (IL1) polymorphisms are associated with susceptibility to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). ⋯ This meta-analysis suggests IL1A -889 C/T polymorphism is associated with susceptibility to SLE in Europeans, and that the IL1RN*2 allele is associated with susceptibility to SLE in Europeans and Asians.

Meta Analysis
Association between CTLA-4 polymorphisms and susceptibility to Celiac disease: a meta-analysis.
The study explored whether cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) polymorphisms confer susceptibility to Celiac disease (CD). ⋯ The CTLA-4 CT60 A/G polymorphism was associated with CD susceptibility, but no association was found between CTLA-4 +49 A/G and -318 C/T polymorphisms and CD in Europeans.
