Review Meta AnalysisShould we abandon annual physical examination? - A meta-analysis of annual physical examination and all-cause mortality in adults based on observational studies.
Several meta-analyses based on randomized clinical trials data have failed to find an association between the annual physical examination (APE) and reduced mortality; however, no comparable meta-analysis based on observational data exists. We conducted a meta-analysis of observational studies comparing APE versus non-APE in adults for all-cause mortality. English-language searches of four databases (PubMed, CINAHL, EMBASE, and Google Scholar) between the years 2000 to 2019 yielded seven observational studies that investigated APE versus non-APE in healthy adults in relation to all-cause mortality. ⋯ APE was significantly associated with a 45% lower hazard of all-cause mortality, with pooled hazard ratio of 0.55 (95% CI 0.48 to 0.64, P < 0.01) for all participants. This meta-analysis of seven observational studies in the past 20 years provides evidence of an association between APE and a lower hazard of all-cause mortality, a finding that contrasts with findings based on meta-analyses of randomized clinical trials data. Nonetheless, at present the evidence available about the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of APE on all-cause mortality still needs further study.

Review Meta AnalysisPsychological violence in dating relationships among adolescents: A systematic review and meta-analysis of prevention programs.
Teen Psychological Dating Violence (TPDV) is a serious public health concern. However, there is limited evidence on the capacity of programs to prevent this form of violence. This study aimed to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis of RCTs to evaluate the efficacy of prevention programs for TPDV. ⋯ Significant differences in effect sizes were also associated with the type of scale used to assess TPDV. Current evidence suggests that intervention programs for TPDV may be effective, particularly when implemented at multiple levels. Further research focusing on refining tools to assess TPDV is needed.

Meta AnalysisRisk factors for incident cardiovascular events among adults in low- and middle-income countries: A systematic review and Meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies.
The relative contributions of risk factors for cardiovascular events at a population level has received little attention in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). We estimated the population attributable fraction (PAF) of risk factors associated with incident cardiovascular events in LMICs. We searched six databases for relevant articles, supplemented with a manual search of reference lists. ⋯ A substantial proportion of incident cardiovascular events were linked to traditional metabolic and behavioural modifiable risk factors. However, other novel risk factors also appear to contribute. Targeting of these established and novel risk factors has the potential to reduce the burden of CVD in LMICs.

Review Meta AnalysisEffect of screen time intervention on obesity among children and adolescent: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled studies.
Several studies have investigated the effect of screen time interventions on obesity in children and adolescents, but the existing results were controversial. This study aimed to analyze the effect of screen time intervention on obesity in children and adolescents. PubMed, Cochrane, Web of Science, Embase databases were searched through December 2020 to identify publications meeting a priori inclusion criteria and references in the published articles were also reviewed. ⋯ The results showed that interventions targeting screen time are effective in reducing total screen time (MD: -6.90 h/week, 95% CI: [-9.19 to -4.60], p < 0.001) and television time (MD: -6.17 h/week, 95% CI: [-10.70 to -1.65], p < 0.001) in children and adolescents. However, there was no significant difference between the intervention and control groups in body mass index and body mass index-z score. In conclusion, there is no evidence that screen time interventions alone can decrease obesity risk in children and adolescents, though they can effectively reduce screen time.

Review Meta AnalysisWillingness, refusal and influential factors of parents to vaccinate their children against the COVID-19: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
We aimed to estimate parents' willingness and refusal to vaccinate their children against the COVID-19, and to investigate the predictors for their decision. We followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis guidelines. We searched Scopus, Web of Science, Medline, PubMed, CINAHL and medrxiv from inception to December 12, 2021. ⋯ Parents' willingness to vaccinate their children against the COVID-19 is moderate and several factors affect this decision. Understanding parental COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy does help policy makers to change the stereotypes and establish broad community COVID-19 vaccination. Identification of the factors that affect parents' willingness to vaccinate their children against COVID-19 will provide opportunities to enhance parents' trust in the COVID-19 vaccines and optimize children's uptake of a COVID-19 vaccine.
