Calcifications of the basal ganglia are frequently seen on the cerebral CT scans and particularly in the globus pallidus. Their frequency increases physiologically with age after 50 years old. ⋯ In pathological contexts, these calcifications may be accompanied by neurological symptoms related to the underlying disease: Parkinson's syndrome, psychiatric and cognitive disorders, epilepsy or headache. The purpose of this article is to provide a diagnostic aid, in addition to clinical and biology, through the analysis of calcification topography and the study of different MRI sequences.

[Use of targeting therapy in Erdheim-Chester disease: A case report with neurologic involvement].
Erdheim-Chester disease (ECD) is a rare multisystemic disease characterised by an infiltration of various organs by CD68+ CD1a- histiocytes. The clinical and radiological presentation is very variable. ⋯ Our case report shows the persistent diagnostic difficulty of the ECD and the particular gravity of neurologic involvement.

SARS-CoV-2 infection, named COVID-19, can lead to a dysregulated immune response and abnormal coagulation responsible for a viral sepsis. In this review, we specify physiopathological mechanisms of each phase of COVID-19 - viral, immune and pro-thrombotic - notably because they involve different treatment. Finally, we specify the physiopathological mechanisms of organ injury.

Gout is a chronic disease due to the deposition of monosodium urate microcrystals in joints and tissues. Its incidence and prevalence are increasing worldwide in close relation with the epidemic of obesity and metabolic syndrome. ⋯ Demonstration of urate microcrystals arthritis allows diagnosis of gout but, in the absence of possibility of performing joint puncture, imaging may be useful for providing complementary diagnostic elements. Appropriate care is essential to reduce the number of flares and the evolution towards gouty arthropathy but also in terms of public health in order to reduce costs related to this pathology.
