Response assessment of colorectal liver metastases with contrast enhanced CT/18F-FDG PET.
Evaluate the diagnostic performance of contrast enhanced CT/PET (ceCT/PET) in the response assessment of patients with colorectal cancer liver metastases. ⋯ Administration of intravenous contrast in the PET/CT is mandatory to evaluate treatment response rate of liver metastases due to the limitations of isolated metabolic images in these cases.

To compare prospectively ECG gated CT pulmonary angiography (CTPA) with routine helical ungated CTPA for cardiac related motion artifacts and patient radiation dose. ⋯ Compared to routine helical ungated CTPA, prospectively ECG gated CTPA may result in less cardiac related motion artifact in lung segments adjacent to the heart and significantly less patient radiation dose.

Efficacy and safety of gadodiamide (Gd-DTPA-BMA) in renal 3D-magnetic resonance angiography (MRA): a phase II study.
To determine the most efficacious dose of gadodiamide for three-dimensional (3D) contrast-enhanced (CE) magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) of the renal arteries on a patient level based on the sensitivity in detecting the main hemodynamically relevant (> or =50% or occlusion) renal artery stenosis (RAS) using intra-arterial digital subtraction angiography (IA DSA) as the gold standard. ⋯ A significant dose trend between the four doses examined was observed. The lowest dose (0.01mmol/kg) differed significantly from those of the other three doses. Based on the analysis of the primary and secondary endpoints, 0.1mmol/kg gadodiamide appears to be the most suitable dose in diagnosing hemodynamically relevant RAS. The present study also demonstrated gadodiamide to be safe and well tolerated.

CT-guided bone biopsy: Initial experience with a commercially available hand held Black and Decker drill.
To describe the use of a simple commercially available Black and Decker hand based drill in performing CT-guided bone biopsies. ⋯ CT-guided bone biopsy using a hand held commercial drill has a technically high success rate with minimal complications.

Prognostic features of Ewing's sarcoma on radionuclide bone scan after initial treatment.
To study short-term changes in the radiopharmaceutical bone scan (BS) appearance of Ewing's sarcoma for indicators of decreased survival or future disease progression. ⋯ Our data suggest that BS imaging of the primary lesion of Ewing's sarcoma provides little information in terms of predicting long-term survival or disease progression in patients with non-metastatic Ewing's sarcoma.
