Multicenter Study[Impact of Sfar experts' conference entitled "Modalities of sedation and/or analgesia in hospital setting"].
In 1999, the Société française d'anesthésie et de réanimation (Sfar) published guidelines regarding sedation in prehospital setting. The recommendated protocol for emergency intubation was the rapid sequence induction (RSI). The aim of this study was to assess the impact of these guidelines on clinical practices. ⋯ The Sfar guidelines regarding sedation in prehospital setting seem to meet a good compliance in clinical practice.

Multicenter Study[Cross-sectional survey of anaesthetic practices in Catalonia, Spain].
The aim of this is study was to describe the epidemiology of anaesthesia practice in Catalonia, Spain, in 2003. ⋯ Females, older patients, or those with poor physical status make high demands on resources, as do procedures in obstetrics, orthopaedics and ophthalmology. These needs must be planned for in the organization of services and training.

The French Society of Anaesthesiology (SFAR) recommends the use of pre printed self-stick syringe labels. However, French anaesthesia-syringe labelling customs is yet unknown. ⋯ Colour labels are used in France by nearly half of the centers, but international colour code is less spread.
