Review[Management of penetrating abdominal trauma: what we need to know?].
Penetrating traumas are rare in France and mainly due to stabbing. Knives are less lethal than firearms. The initial clinical assessment is the cornerstone of hospital care. ⋯ Mortality remains high, initially due to bleeding complications and secondarily to infectious complications. Early and appropriate surgery can reduce morbidity and mortality. Non-operative strategy is only possible in selected patients in trained trauma centers and with intensive supervision by experienced staff.

Case Reports[Medical termination of pregnancy in a patient with severe cystic fibrosis. Possible effect of the antiglucocorticoid action of mifepristone on the respiratory disease].
Better management of patients with cystic fibrosis has resulted in an increased rate of pregnancy, especially in mild forms. In case of severe respiratory impairment, physiological changes occurring during pregnancy can be life threatening. ⋯ Mifepristone used for induction of labor has a well-known antiglucocorticoid action. We discuss here its potential effect on the onset of an acute pulmonary failure in this patient with long-term corticosteroid therapy.

Case Reports[Gestational diabetes insipidus during a twin pregnancy].
Gestational diabetes insipidus is an uncommon clinical disease whose prevalence is approximately two to three pregnancies per 100,000. It may be isolated or associated with preeclampsia. ⋯ We recall the specific pathophysiology of polyuric-polydipsic syndrome during pregnancy and summarize its various causes. Finally, we discuss the indications, in case of isolated gestational diabetes insipidus, of treatment by dDAVP.

The interest of tight glucose control in ICU is still debated. In France, no data are available regarding this therapy and the implementation of its guidelines. ⋯ Glucose control protocols are available in more than 80% ICUs but their implementation is still imperfect. However, the median glycemia meets international current recommendations. Severe hypoglycemia is a very rare event in ICU.
