Meta Analysis[Ondansetron: a meta-analysis on its efficacy to prevent postoperative nausea and vomiting after craniotomy in adults and children].
To justify the use of ondansetron as a preventive treatment for postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) of adults and children in neurosurgery. ⋯ Peroperative intravenous dose of ondansetron 4 mg in neurosurgery in adults is required to prevent PONV during the first postoperative 24 hours. However, further studies are needed to determine best time and dose infusion to prolong clinical efficacy.

Meta Analysis[The neurostimulator for brachial plexus blockade by the axillary approach: a metaanalysis on its efficacy to increase the success rate].
To evaluate the effectiveness of the neurostimulator to improve the success rate of a brachial plexus blockade by the axillary approach. ⋯ This study shows that the neurostimulator improves the success rate of brachial plexus blocks performed by the axillary approach only when three nerves or more are stimulated and its use decreases the incidence of systemic local anaesthetics toxicity.

Meta Analysis[Use of ropivacaine for peridural postoperative analgesia].
To describe pharmacology and toxicology of ropivacaine. To assess the clinical efficacy of ropivacaine when used for postoperative epidural analgesia and to provide recommendations for clinical practice. ⋯ Epidural ropivacaine combined with opioid provide good postoperative pain relief. Reduction in the incidence of motor blockade and safe toxicological profile make this local anaesthetic a suitable alternative of bupivacaine for postoperative epidural analgesia.
