Multicenter Study[Acute severe pain in emergencies. The key for efficient analgesia].
To measure severe acute pain (SAP) frequency, to describe SAP management and to bring to view the conditions of analgesia success in emergency medicine. ⋯ Despite the high frequency of SAP in ED and MICU, pain control is not satisfying. Opioid use and early treatment are determinant in analgesia efficiency for SAP and should be therefore encouraged to improve pain relief in emergency medicine.

Multicenter Study[Prospective national survey on alternatives to obstetrical peridural analgesia].
To assess the type of an alternative technique for epidural analgesia for pain relief during labour, the reason of its choice and its efficiency. ⋯ Epidural and spinal analgesia are the most efficient methods for pain relief during labour. The analgesic effect of non-regional methods during labour is minimal, associated with some maternal side effects. Due to its lack of analgesic effect, pethidine should be avoided in this indication.

Multicenter Study[Surveillance of nosocomial infections related to anesthesia. A multicenter study].
To determine incidence rate, main characteristics and risk factors of nosocomial infections associated with anesthesia (NIAA). ⋯ This first prospective survey of NIAA confirmed that nosocomial infections are a real problem in the practice of anaesthesia and the necessity to use preventive measures. A survey with a larger sample size would allow to specify the respective part of the various risk factors and to develop a risk index.

Multicenter Study Clinical Trial[Pharmacodynamics and safety of mivacurium in infants and children under halothane-nitrous oxide anesthesia].
To determine pharmacodynamic effects and safety of mivacurium in paediatric patients. ⋯ Following 0.2 mg.kg-1 of mivacurium in patients aged between three months to eight years, a complete blockade occurs with a rapid onset time and a short duration of action, without significant cardiovascular effect.
