The therapeutic effects of repeated detrusor injections between 200 or 300 units of onabotulinumtoxinA in chronic spinal cord injured patients.
To investigate the therapeutic effects of repeated detrusor onabotulinumtoxinA injections on treatment outcomes, quality of life (QoL), and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in chronic spinal cord injured (SCI) patients with neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction and urinary incontinence. ⋯ Either 200-U or 300-U repeated detrusor onabotulinumtoxinA injections improved incontinence, urodynamic parameters, and QoL in SCI patients with neurogenic DO. Renal function was maintained in patients receiving both dosage of repeated injections.

To review knowledge on cannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system in lower urinary tract function and dysfunction. ⋯ Evidence suggests components of the endocannabinoid system are involved in regulation of bladder function, possibly at several levels of the micturition pathway. It is unclear if either CB receptor has a dominant role in modification of sensory signals or if differences exist at peripheral and central nervous sites. Amplification of endocannabinoid activity by FAAH inhibitors may be an attractive drug target in specific pathways involved in LUTS.

To investigate if pelvic floor muscle (PFM) thickness and area of levator hiatus (LH) are associated with manometry measured PFM function in 109 women with pelvic organ prolapse (POP) stages I-III. ⋯ There are moderate associations between measurements using ultrasound and manometry in POP women. Thicker muscles and smaller LH were associated with higher strength and endurance. Smaller LH was additionally associated with higher vaginal resting pressure. Ultrasound and manometry measure different aspects of the PFM and cannot be used interchangeably.
