The efficacy and safety comparison of surgical treatments for stress urinary incontinence: A network meta-analysis.
Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a common problem worldwide. Mainstream surgical procedures include tension-free vaginal tape (TVT), transobturator tape (TOT), tension-free vaginal tape-obturator (TVT-O), tension-free vaginal tape SECUR (TVT-S), and adjustable single-incision sling (Ajust). The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy and safety of these surgical procedures and assess which surgery is most optimal for SUI by adopting a network meta-analysis (NMA). ⋯ Our study recommend TOT as the optimal regimen for SUI with high efficacy and moderate safety when compared with TVT, TVT-O, TVT-S, and Ajust interventions. However, with the limitation of our study, additional high-quality studies are needed to further evaluate the outcomes.

Intermittent self-dilatation for urethral stricture disease in males: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Intermittent self-dilatation (ISD) may be recommended to reduce the risk of recurrent urethral stricture. Level one evidence to support the use of this intervention is lacking. ⋯ ISD may decrease the risk of recurrent urethral stricture. A well-designed RCT is required to determine whether that benefit alone is sufficient to make this intervention worthwhile and in whom. Neurourol. The efficacy and safety of onabotulinumtoxinA in treating idiopathic OAB: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
We carried out a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the efficacy and safety of the drug for treating idiopathic OAB. ⋯ This meta-analysis indicates that onabotulinumtoxinA to be an effective treatment for idiopathic overactive bladder symptoms with side effects primarily localized to urinary tract.

Effectiveness of percutaneous posterior tibial nerve stimulation for overactive bladder: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
To evaluate the effectiveness of posterior percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) in treating overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms by systematic review of the literature. ⋯ There is evidence of significant improvement in OAB symptoms using PTNS which is comparable to the effect of antimuscarinics but with a better side effect profile. The studies included in the review only considered short-term outcomes after initial treatment. In order to recommend PTNS as a practical treatment option, long-term data and health economic analysis are needed.

Open retropubic colposuspension for urinary incontinence in women: a short version Cochrane review.
Urinary incontinence is a common and potentially debilitating problem. Open retropubic colposuspension is a surgical treatment which involves lifting the tissues near the bladder neck and proximal urethra in the area behind the anterior pubic bones to correct deficient urethral closure. ⋯ The evidence available indicates that open retropubic colposuspension is an effective treatment modality for stress urinary incontinence especially in the long term. Within the first year of treatment, the overall continence rate is approximately 85-90%. After 5 years, approximately 70% of patients can expect to be dry. Newer minimal access procedures such as tension free vaginal tape look promising in comparison with open colposuspension but their long-term performance is not known and closer monitoring of their adverse event profile must be carried out. Laparoscopic colposuspension should allow speedier recovery but its relative safety and effectiveness is not known yet.
